Well VDM and Hayden were someway back so that probably answers your question about the pace of the Honda, but the pace of Davies' Ducati was impressive considering their straightline speed deficit.

Whoops..... I had a senior moment there. I knew in my head he was on a Ducati, but.....

So after two rather exciting oversea meetings the European season will kick off at Aragon next weekend. Also the Superstock 1000 series has its season opener. I really hope for similar exciting races like we had in the previous two rounds.

At Aragon race 1 on Saturday has been run and won.... perhaps not as intense a race as the previous two rounds as the field spread out more, but within that there were several groups involved in very close battles, including the leading trio, then another for 4th 5th and 6th, so the racing ensured attention at all times, with battles in all the coverage. We also saw an end to the green (Kawasaki) domination of the top step, with Chas Davies taking that with his Ducati. Further back VDM spoilt his early Championship[ run when he craashed out after a few laps. Ultimately Rea still leads the title race, from teamate Sykes with Rea having a strong race after a poor qualifying effort. He fought through to 2nd leaving his front row starting teamate to finish 3rd.
Race 2 today.....

Sorry I`m not really paying attention this weekend as I will be off to my countries fire academy again later in the afternoon and was reading up on the stuff I will be into next week. Race 1 was quite ok from what I saw. The WSS race I didn't follow as I had to attend practice of my home fire station. Hopefully I get to see chunks of race 2.

I just discovered that I can watch WSBK live on TV here in USA. I found out by sheer accident by tuning into a random channel where there was 2 laps to go of race 2.
So it was the 700th WSBK race this weekend? Good to know WSBK made effort to tell people. I was on the series website earlier in the weekend and there was no obvious mention. Crazy to think that Ducati has won almost 50% of the WSBK races run. 320 of the 700 I think.
Oh and another piece of news that has gone unnoticed is that the Monza round has been cancelled. It was announced on 1st April but wasn't a joke. Organisors are trying to keep that round in Italy, but there are scheduling conflicts with Vallelunga.
WSB heads to Assen this weekend.
I wonder how the Kwakers will look compared to the Ducatis here. Supersport and Superstock should become real crackers here.

Indeed and I will be watching for sure. Assen is always a great event and venue generally for bikes. It (WSBK and supporting races) has as a category become my must watch track racing bike category this year.

WSBK race 1 was incredible. Such a close fight between three widely different manufacturers. Just a shame that Sykes and VDM had their problems. I haven't watched race 2 just yet.
Superbikes are at Imola this weekend. I will miss most of it because I`m visiting the open day of the lower saxon Fire Academy today and will take part in a fire station competition tomorrow, so please keep me posted

Just settling in to watch race 1 now. Ducati take the first two grid spots in Superpole. (Chaz Davies on Pole ahead of Giugliano)
Sylvain Guintoli sadly had a huge highside in Superpole breaking his ankle and rendering him a DNS for the rest of the weekend.
