Thy said the same about Silverstone when they built the Wellington loop section, oh it's only for bikes, didn't take long for them to change their minds....
But but the Wellington loop saved Donington ! If they only could bring back Dunlop Bridge .

Today and tomorrow one of the biggest, if not the biggest, beach race in Europe takes place with the Enduropale du Touquet.
Motors TV and France 3 cover the Quads live today from 11:45am CET / 10:45am GMT and the motorcycles live tomorrow from 11:30 am CET / 10:30am GMT. But I got to see whether France 3 broadcasts it on fta on the 5° west satelite.
I`ll post streams when they become available

Real good news from New Zealand.
Shaun Harris is recovering well from the desastrous injuries he received in an incident at Timaru Raceway earlier this year.
Shaun Harris has defied the odds after a serious crash in a Superbikes race in Timaru last month.

For the second time in nine years, doctors told Shaun Harris' family to prepare for the worst after he suffered severe head injuries when he crashed during a motorcycle race.
But the champion rider has again defied the odds and is up and about, even trying to cajole his weary wife into booking his spot at this year's Isle of Man TT.
Harris came off his bike during a qualification run for the New Zealand Superbike Championships at the Timaru International Motor Raceway on January 23, causing multiple brain bleeds.
He had only recently got back in the saddle after a crash at the Isle of Man TT in 2007, which left him in an induced coma for close to a month with a head injury and a stack of broken bones.
After the most recent incident his wife, Fiona Kelsen, was told that he might never wake up and that his life support may need to be turned off if his condition didn't dramatically improve.
Remarkably, less than a month after the crash Harris is wide awake and even back on his feet.
"He is, to be honest, going ahead in leaps and bounds. It's amazing," Kelsen said.
But he suffered a severe traumatic head injury, and still has a long way to go to recover.
He is unable to swallow and has to be fed through a tube. And he can't talk yet so communicates by writing on a pad.

"He's still thinking about motorbikes. One thing he wrote was for me to sort out TT airline tickets. So I said 'okay Shaun I'll sort that out for you, in your dreams'," Kelsen said.
"He's as nutty as a fruit cake, but then Shaun Harris was as nutty as a fruit cake anyway."
The next stage of his rehabilitation will be to travel to Wellington where he will receive specialist treatment.
"It's one step closer to home, just one step closer. And home is the best place for him to rehab," she said.
"He will live but how he comes back to us we don't know. Having said that, he's Shaun Harris and watching him, seeing what he does, he has amazing stamina."
Kelsen spent about three months in the UK and Isle of Man after Harris' 2007 accident.

Great news and considering the gravity of his situation to what is still far from a full recovery, far better than many of us might have imagined. Loved the bit about the note to his wife to book the tickets for the TT! Tough blokes these guys.

And here's a bit of different news. Ulster GP lap record holder and last years Superbike TT winner, the flyin' kiwi Bruce Anstey has received New Zealands Order of Merit today.
Happy congrats, Bruce.

It is with great regret to announce the passing of 2015 Junior Manx GP winner Billy Redmayne, 25, from Laxey IoM following an incident during the Scarborough Spring Cup at Oliver's Mount circuit. Billy suffered from severe head injuries and was not able to breath alone.
RIP Billy, my thoughts and prayers. I wish your girlfriend Hannah, your parents, family and friends all the power and strength it takes in these dark hours.
It's been announced that Manx Rider Billy Redmayne has died.
The 25 year old Laxey racer was injured in an incident at Oliver's Mount on Sunday.
He had been taken to hospital in Scarborough before being airlifted to James Cook Hospital in Middlesborough where he was on a ventilator.
However, his girlfriend Hannah Louis posted on her Facebook page this morning that sadly he had passed away.
In a moving tribute she said:
"We were told that the damage to his brain was too severe for him to ever wake up again. Even if we had waited for the swelling to go down, the damage was too bad. He also wasn't able to breathe for himself and was kept awake by machines. Myself and his family decided rather than prolong the inevitable, we would turn off his life support machine and donate whatever organs we could.
I am holding on to the fact that Billy died doing what he loved, and that was the way he always wanted it."
She goes on to say today was their second anniversary of being together and whilst appreciating all the help and good wishes she and the family had received, they now asked to be left in peace.
She ended her post "Happy Anniversary Billy. Sleep tight my love, until we meet again"
