1970 Monza F3 Incidents - Everything "?"

Post by Jesper Hvid » 9 months ago

These are "leftovers" from the Italian eBayer whose stuff I've been monitoring and adding, they are openwheel incidents, possibly from 1970 and Monza.

I can't identify any of them, and all there was in terms of specifics besides what's in the title, was "Petri - Vigorelli". No idea what that might mean, but there was a sportscar race back in the day called the Trofeo Vigorelli, maybe that is a clue in itself.

These are the images, click to enlarge.

I'd say a couple at least would be worth the effort of identification, and possibly deserve a place in the CPDB. I've paired those which seem to be from the approx. same angle, but they needn't be showing the same situations.

There is already something in the database from a 1970 Monza F3 race, the Pino Pica crash, shown here:

But it doesn't match any of the above.

First one looks like Monaco to me.

Luigi Petri is listed as driving in the XX Trofeo Bruno e Fofi Vigorelli 1970 at Monza: http://www.formula2.net/F370_E24.htm

That would only identify one of the pics, so it would help if you could tell us which info belonged to which pic exactly.

Said 1970 on all, said "Petri - Vigorelli" on the Esso/Coca Cola ones, and the Monza suggestion came from me, via Vigorelli. I agree the first pair is probably Monaco. Unfortunately, there were no other numbered pics besides the one with the circled 2, and it's probably going to be difficult.
