I'm working with newspapers.com to photographs of fatalities of US drivers that are not yet on here.

As of yet, I've worked my way up to Tom Bauer. With minor success, so far.
That project is... enormous. All the US drivers fatalities?

I hope the country is Great Britain, since there are a lot of crashes which happened there, but are unfindable.
It can't be Great Britain as it was one of the first projects I ever completed: http://www.the-fastlane.co.uk/cpdb/cras ... UK~Country

There might be a Gloucester in America...but that would be mental to take on as a single project.
Ding ding ding ding ding! We have a winner!

Gloucester, UK, is famous for being the birthtown of John Stafford Smith whom we all know as the creator of the anthem of the greatest and best country in the world: the American national anthem. That leads us to the United States.
And John Stafford Smith is dead which obviously leads us to fatalities in motor racing. (Ok, that connection is made up. But it works.)

To be fair Gloucester UK is more famous for many other things...

- Cheese Rolling (per Paul's video)
- The Tailor of Gloucester, by Beatrix Potter
- Simon Pegg, born, raised and schooled in Gloucester before becoming and TV and movie star
- Scott Redding, current MotoGP rider is from Gloucester
- Gloucester RFC, one of the top rugby teams in Europe
- Scenes for the early Harry Potter movies were filmed at Gloucester Cathedral
- The Roman ruins
- Fred West, the Roman ruins weren't the only things found buried under ground
- Me (I lived in Gloucester for 15+ years)

It is interesting that John Stafford Smith is from Gloucester, I must admit that it is the first I've heard of that. You'll probably find that the majority of Gloucester folk won't know either.

I would never disagree with someone who used to live there. I just wanted to find a "complicated hint" as demanded by Mitch.

B2t: To give you an update on what I've been doing. I found (new) photographs of the following fatal accidents so far:

Todd Abbott
Clifford Allison - don't expect much.
Rick Baldwin
Arthur Bessette
Bill Billingsley
Phil Bowser - already here, but offline
Billie Brakefield
Thomas Branch
Don Branson - probably, will need confirmation
Rickie Brandt - one victim of Bill Crane's disastrous accident at Sedalia in 1965
Tony Roper
Chick Smith

I have never even heard of John Stafford Smith. (and I lived within 30 miles of Gloucester)
As an aside with a Motor Racing angle, Gloucester RFC is owned and run by the Walkinshaw family, Tom W in particular famed for his long involvement in Motor Racing at all levels from Touring Cars to Sports Car World Championships as TWR, right through to F1, where as co owner of Benetton he was instrumental in persuading co owner Briatore to sign Michael Schumacher to Benetton back in 1991. Post F1 Tom owned and ran the Holden Special Vehicles works V8 Supercars Team in Australia which now races as Walkinshaw Performance. The company also produce highly tuned specialist Road Cars.

Tom W bought the Gloucester Rugby team back in the 1990's and ran it as Chairman until his passing, when it was passed on to his son Ryan.

That's a good point about Walkinshaw. Glos fans weren't too happy with him running the club.
