Project X

Post by hollie3sa » 2 years ago

I've started a new project.
I'm not revealing what it is until I have made some progress and that might take a few weeks.

All you need to know for now is that it's gonna be a big one. So please, be patient.

You're there and/or you've found a good library with a lot of newspapers of 50s and 60s?

This sounds intriguing! I look forward to seeing what this is, because I have no idea how Gloucester can be related, unless you're recording crashes in the Gloucester Cheese Rolling competition:

I love your effort. But you're all far off.

Gloucester might give you a historically imporant hint towards the country. And the country is actually everything you need to know.

I hope the country is Great Britain, since there are a lot of crashes which happened there, but are unfindable.

It can't be Great Britain as it was one of the first projects I ever completed: http://www.the-fastlane.co.uk/cpdb/cras ... UK~Country

There might be a Gloucester in America...but that would be mental to take on as a single project.

This was a good shout.

Gloucester = Got Clues, or...?

I think the finding of Partridge's crash in findmypast.co.uk may be related to this (see the "Sportscar Accidents" thread).

Ding ding ding ding ding! We have a winner!

Gloucester, UK, is famous for being the birthtown of John Stafford Smith whom we all know as the creator of the anthem of the greatest and best country in the world: the American national anthem. That leads us to the United States.
And John Stafford Smith is dead which obviously leads us to fatalities in motor racing. (Ok, that connection is made up. But it works.)

I'm working with newspapers.com to photographs of fatalities of US drivers that are not yet on here.
http://motorsportmemorial.org/query.php ... d%20States
As of yet, I've worked my way up to Tom Bauer. With minor success, so far.

That project is... enormous. All the US drivers fatalities?
