McLaughlin won race 2 from Mostert and Waters. Whincup took 4th after a battle with Chaz.

Dick Stainaway has been hit with a $10000 fine and been disqualified from yesterday's race after onboard footage showed that he accelerated into Holdsworth three times going through turns 4 and 5 in what looked like a deliberate attempt to send Lee into the wall at 140 km/h. Holdsworth called Richie an imbecile in an interview and confronted him in the pits after the race.

There was no action on the Waters/McLaughlin incident.

Macauley Jones has a big shunt. He got held up on Simona and tried to pass her but Jacobson was slightly up his inside and Macca got sent head on into the wall.

The race was cut short by one lap because of time certainty even though there's 2 hours until the grand prix.

McLaughlin wins from Mostert, Whincup and Waters. Chaz wins the Larry Perkins Trophy for the most points over the weekend.

Seems strange that Scotty M wins 3 of the 4 races yet leaves Melbourne with a smaller championship lead than he arrived with.

About bloody time. Long overdue.

Parity raises its head again and them moans from T888 and no doubt Roland Dane stirs the pot with other teams get bigger

In separate news I see the parity word is getting bigger again and CoG (Centre of Gravity) tests have been undertaken on 10 cars since the Melbourne races. The fear is the Mustangs are all able to run with much lower CoG, and thus gaining a significant handling advantage. I think it is a load of 'Bull', and await the results with interest.

It all came up when it was discovered the Penske cars had found a brilliant loophole. As in F1, the cars are all now manufactured and able to tip the scales under the weight limit and are using ballast in optimum low down places to gain CoG benefits. After Adelaide it was discovered the DJRTP cars were running silencers weighing 25 kgs! Thus having a chunk of weight added in effect low down in the car. They replaced them with silencers over 20 kgs lighter for Melbourne to fall in line with others. This would have clearly raised their CoG by the ballast weight having to be higher and inside the car rather than in effect dragging near the road as the silencers do. The result? Mustangs still took a win in all four races.

I thought the overweight silencers was a brilliant case of outside the 9 squares thinking. Anyway, the Mustangs still have won every race at Melcourne after reverting to normal silencers.... so the tests were held.

I will laugh my socks off if the results are posted and the RBR cars are the lowest CoG cars!

I think the Mustang supremacy is more down to the fact they have likely found the best set up and manner of running with the single spring suspension now mandated by Supercars over the complex twin springs setups they were all using last year. Anyway time will tell.

But the PARITY word is getting bigger and BIGGER and BIGGER in the paddock. The shit will hit the fan soon if RBR dont win a race soon. I suspect much Holden and Nissan whispering and joint meetings going on to plot their next move to have changes made as I type. FWIW the side by side parity straight line tests were held as with any new car pre season to ensure they all have the same drag/downforce at 200kph in a straight line, with changes to wing sizes and other things until all were equal in the 200kph tests.

Hence why I feel with so many common parts now that the secret is finding the sweet settings and setup spot with the new spring regulations and that the DJRTP team have found the best option.

I get the impression it is not extra weight, just some of the ballast already carried to meet minimum weight to be in the upper areas (ie the roof) of the car to raise the CoG.

I thought that the DJRTP use of 25 kg mufflers under the car was a brilliant outside the square move, but that was knocked on the head. (before the GP meeting as it happens) :roll:

At least we don't have the Holdens running V6 turbos, that would make the whole parity discussion go through the roof.
