I think it’s more DJRTP giving other teams the finger. They have mastered the new single spring setup challenges better than any others.
They were half a second faster than other Mustangs in qualy

The aero changes have only taken away one of DJR's advantagesEverso Biggyballies wrote: ↑5 years ago I think it’s more DJRTP giving other teams the finger. They have mastered the new single spring setup challenges better than any others.

But even then as Morris/Ingall pointed out on their vodcast the aero changes may actually help them in some ways, since they've effectively reduced drag on the Mustangs which would increase straight-line speed depending on how much slower they're going through the corners.

Winton starts tommorow.
Schedule: https://www.supercars.com/2019-truck-as ... e-results/
Only real news is that BJR's got an extra car again with Jack Smith returning in the #21.
Support categories are the Super3s, the SuperUtes (which have been lowered and given better tires in an attempt to make them look sportier), the Touring Car Masters, the Formula Fords and for I believe the first ever time at a Supercars event, the greatest racing category in Australia...
Aw yeah.

I watched their (the Excels's) first race today..... there were dozens of them. They had a few DNFs (one caught fire) but they still had over 40 finishers! A bit slow but they were having a ball.theracer120 wrote: ↑4 years ago .....and for I believe the first ever time at a Supercars event, the greatest racing category in Australia...

It is quite wet.
There was literally a collision between the leaders as they crossed the finish line in TCM earlier and they both went spinning wildly. One of them got launched into the air off a curb. That was insane.

Mostert got pole from COulthard and Reynolds. McLaughlin got 5th and Whincup 10th, SVG only made it to 12th.

McLaughlin won the first race today. It was a fairly quiet race for the most part, however it was a mental first couple of laps.
Coulthard and Mostert bumped several times going through the first chicane and later on in the lap the two DJR cars bumped into each other and both went off the road. Scotty completely cut the track and rejoined where he had been previously which was third. Fabs got a time penalty for that but McLaughlin wasn't penalised.
Courtney ended up leading the first lap from starting 4th but the next lap he got bumped by Reynolds and he lost several places. David also got a time penalty for that.
De Silvestro then got spun by Stanaway at the final corner and Smith almost got cleaned up in the process.

According to the Boost Mobile Racing Facebook page Chris Pither will be racing tommorow in the place of Stanaway who's having neck problems.

I think Stanaway is terribly overrated. There must be better more deserving operators out there.

Today was a pretty dull race. McLaughlin won going away, he now has a huge points lead. Coulthard was 2nd and Whincup 3rd from Reynolds and Holdsworth who had a strong result in 5th. SVG got 7th. Mostert had a terrible day firing it off the road a couple of times but he drove through the field to finish in the top 10.

Today Pither equalled Richie's best result of the season (a 14th)...Everso Biggyballies wrote: ↑4 years ago I think Stanaway is terribly overrated. There must be better more deserving operators out there.

Simona is out of contract at the end of this year and it looks like she wants to stay on.

The Kosteckis (Brodie and Jake) are going to be running in an extra extry for the enduros.

I like Simona and hope that she can get a decent ride sorted out for next year and beyond. She deserves more than a Kelly Krate.theracer120 wrote: ↑4 years ago https://www.speedcafe.com/2019/06/07/ne ... rity-list/

Stanaway won't be at Darwin this weekend, apparently because of his neck injury. Pither will continue to replace him.

Wonder if this is the thin end of the wedge. Good luck to Chris Pither. He did a good job at short notice last time.theracer120 wrote: ↑4 years ago https://www.speedcafe.com/2019/06/11/st ... ck-injury/
