Bottom post of the previous page:

From what I read it wasn’t Sam Schmidt that was pissed, he said that Ericsson should be pissed at Alfa Romeo as they told him he would be replacing Kimi and wasted his time. Apparently even on Thursday last week Kimi was not driving.

Unless you hear Kimi's side of the story posted Thursday, which referred to Ericsson as nothing more than a back up plan, Kimi said he waS fine (in his head) but you never know sort of thing.
"I pulled a muscle and we will see how it is," Raikkonen told reporters in the Formula 1 paddock on Thursday morning. "In my head it should be fine but you never know.

"We need to have some back-up plan," he continued when asked if this was the reason for Ericsson's change of plans. "There is a reason why every team has a third driver.

"It would be stupid not to have our third driver [here] in case I couldn’t be driving," he explained. "Then it is the worst case scenario!

"It is a normal story. It is a difficult situation for him also because he had a race, but that is how it is."

Ahead of Dixon somehow placing a gypsy curse on half the grid this weekend and somehow winning the championship from a bazillion points down, here's a silly season sweep by Miller and Pruett (available on Youtube but I'll spare you 17 minutes and just post it here):

Hinch to RLL but maybe stay at SPAM but probably not

Daly maybe to SPAM or Carlin

Pagenaud to SPAM in 2021

Alonso might run a few races including a short oval

Latifi focusing on Europe/F1

SPAM probably not interested in Askew due to wanting more experience

Ed Jones probably out at ECR and Ed was in the pit watching Indy Lights qualifying specifically Rinus Veekay

Pigot probably staying at ECR

Ericsson maybe to Carlin. Kimball working on sponsorship. Chilton staying put of course.

CGR technical partnership with 3rd car comprised of some staff from their sports car program. Maybe that is with Shank it maybe Shank is with Andretti as a technical partnership.

Shank is making an announcement soon.

No decision on drivers for Foyt

Honda might be trying to place TK somewhere for a farewell year.

Coyne has Bourdais for another year but Ferrucci’s seat is currently open. No word on where he may be going but they say he is staying in Indycar.

There lots of drivers with 2-3 million in backing but not the 6 million backing owners would like to see.

In any event it’s mostly stuff we have talked or heard about around here. The most interesting being Alonso maybe running a few races and where is Ferrucci going to be if he’s not going back to DCR.

Rahal+Sato+Hinch at RLL would be a good team.

wtf is a latifi?

SPAM (lol) needs at least one very experienced driver. Daly+SPAM would be better for Daly than for SPAM IMO, same with Ericsson. But those two together there would not be half bad. Who else is in the picture there then?

Nothing else is especially interesting IMO.

Pity for Felix. Puts him in a prime position to get Satoed on the first lap. But then again, so does everyone in front of and behind Sato.

Even the vets need to be reminded how narrow this track is, I expect some clusterfuck on the opening lap.

Apparently the track is ultra slippery and that tyres are degrading really fast. So there could be a lot of fun.
