I'm pretty certain there's too much damage for Whincup to continue.Considering they only made it to lap 37 of 102 I'm not sure there would be any points awarded for this race if it didn't get restarted.

If a race is stopped after more than half the scheduled race distance or duration has been completed by the leading car and cannot be restarted, full race points will be awarded. If a race is stopped before half the scheduled race distance or duration has been completed by the leading car and cannot be restarted, no points will be awarded.

Race will be restarting in 5 minutes. They should get to halfway (another 14 laps) now presuming there isn't anymore heavy rain.

There's still standing water on the circuit. It may be that they just drive around under SC until they do get to lap 51.

As it stands it will be Russell/Heimgartner winning this race if they go to lap 51 which would be ridiculous at this point.

De Pasquale in the lead and Davison P2 have been in the car from the start. They have to change. Although the minimum laps has been waived all drivers and co drivers must complete laps. Dont think they can change driver under red flag but maybe wrong on that.

The teams seem to be keen to call it off.... dont blame them. (They) Have to leave for New Zealand in a few days and that would be a nightmare given the damage that would be inevitable.
