I heard the commentary team saying something about potential time penalties can be added during (and even after I think they said?) the race if they feel there has been sandbagging in qualy and practice by teams to get BoP favours for the race. I'm hoping I misheard it or got it wrong what they were saying.
A 2 second gap between the two Toyotas seemed a bit strange, but maybe Naka just timed his run right with the conditions. Still, even his pole lap was slower than last year's pole.

No you heard right, the ACO can give out stop/go's, time penalties or even add time to a cars race time, it was Jeremy Shaw who though it shit.

Eurosport is showing the entire race live in Australia by the looks of things so if you have Foxtel you should be able to watch that (at least that's what I'm doing.)

Yeah I have that on in the lounge, but was hoping to have a stream running in my office on the PC. I have a problem with my office TV. It only works atm as a second monitor for my comp! For some reason it wont run the Foxtel signal since I upgraded to IQ3, only FTA. (Im too tight to pay for the Foxtel 'anyroom' upgrade)

Note for F1.... the ACO can get their official flag to start the race delivered in a timely fashion, absailed in by a dude bailing out of a helicopter. All done with a bit of showbiz.

That stream is running now.... just refreshed the timetable screen and the grid came up.
