tried to watch it again, but the buffer and crashes of the stream are just horrible. Pity, because i love the track and racing there.

Brilliant result and very happy for Betty and all at Erebus. The Penrite car had been on the pace all weekend. Glad the race result affected all the title contenders pretty equally and we still have a championship battle.

That was quite special.

I missed the last hour of the race live.... I fell asleep when it got to 7.30am having watched it for 6 hours. However I just watched the last hour of the race in the highlights on TV. It was quite a full on session with all the tyre dilemmas, dry lines and not so dry lines, driver errors, not to mention the fuel games and strategies being played out with help from SC's. A great ending to another classic Bathurst 1000k race.

Watched the start, some parts in the middle or thereabouts as well as the last hour or so. I know nothing about Erebus, but they seemed like a smaller team and the genuine excitement/nerves was brilliant to see. A great moment even from an outsider's POV. Can't imagine what it's like for their fans, or people who have followed the sport more closely.

It's quite a special race. I wish these would be broadcasted on YouTube like NISMO TV does, but... can't have everything.

The Erebus story is quite remarkable, from the owner, Betty Klimenko, an adopted jail orphan who made good, now being pretty much a billionaire in her own right. She is a larger than life Tattoed Grandmother with pink /purple highlights in her bleached hair, depending on mood and who has spent over $40 million of her own money to establish a V8 Supercars team which started the Mercedes V8 SC Adventure. Mercedes lack of any committment forced Betty to dump them and relaunch the team as a Holden runner. It is very much an independent team, with a total staff of 20 (against the might of the likes of Prodrive and t888 wirh their hundreds of staff and tens of millions of sponsorship $$$.

She is a fabulous character without whom the VASC scene would be less interesting. A bit of a Garry Rodgers in terms of uniqueness.

Interesting story of how Betty went from rags to riches
