And the walls are further away. I don't think it's THAT bad though, it looks like it would be relatively fun to drive and at least the hairpins and sharp right handers should lead to passing opportunities. The best section is probably the one after 0:40 or so (the long downhill right hander which straightens out and then leads into a sharper right turn), that looks like it would be pretty wild if you went two-wide. That video is also missing the rest of the track which has an esses section which could be cool if there's some elevation. Granted, even with that the track it's not going to be close to being as good as Bathurst or the Nordschleife or even the Adelaide street circuit but I do think it will be a solid addition to Aussie motorsport.Australia building 7.8km race track to "rival" Nordschleife

This is an actual lap of the Supercars layout (granted it's at 5 kilometres an hour on the access road), but it's enough to give you a good idea of what it will look like and it does mercifully have some elevation change which is good (particuarly at 9:35). Whether or not it will produce good racing is another thing.

Why so many squiggly lines? If we look at the tracks we all love, Spa, Monza, Interlagos, Brands Hatch, Silverstone, we don't have any sections that looks like that. Take COTA for instance, where the squigglies go on for ages and is arguably the worst part of the circuit when it comes to producing overtakes. Suzuka is one of the few places that have made squigglies work.

Here is the first "flying" lap (flying is a massive overstatement, you could go faster on a bicycle) of the actual track with the tarmac laid and the place looking pretty complete and I'm guessing the track builder explaining it. It also shows the extended GT section of the track for the first time.
