?1937-1981? Breathtakers - Illustrated Speedway News Pictorial Compilations
OK, so I'm trying to find out how many of these were made. Compiling a list. May invest in them one day, they are hard to find (and also expensive). Basically, they are early racing crash magazines, with the most spectacular of the year's photography, as shown in the pictorial sections that came with the newspaper. I would also like to know when the ISN started and ended, that way I can narrow it down a bit.
Requesting info on missing years, preferably cover scans.

Early example of an issue of ISN, click to enlarge:
1940 Vol. IV, No. 14.
This tells me two things, a) the newspaper started in 1937; and, b) it was a weekly, out every Friday.
It does not indicate that there were any pictorial inserts during those years, let alone yearbooks.
Note: by 1949 (which ought to have been vol. 13), it had only reached volume 9, so it was probably discontinued during the WW2-years after the USA got involved, that is to say, 1942-1945, which would (partially) explain the missing 4 years/volumes.

This is possibly the 1951 or -2 edition, but it does not say so on the cover. They reused the illustration for the 1st one, only the colour is different.

I can find issues dating as late as 1981, but none thereafter. I've put that as final year in topic title.

Thanks for posting these. Going through them somehow evoked an enjoyable feeling of nostalgia.

It does, doesn't it. Even though I wasn't even born when they made them.
When I've managed to find out how many there are, and what they'll end up costing, I'll very possibly get the entire collection and post them here.

1957-1959 may not exist. 1960 contains pics from those seasons.

Good research Jesper. Looking forward to what you can pull from them.
