1959 Fausto Meyrat's Fatal Accident, 1000km of the N'ring

This is Road And Track Magazine's article by Bernard Cahier from the 1959 1000km of the Nürburgring, 3rd rd. WSC. 4 pages, click to enlarge:

It has a pic of Meyrat's ill-fated car. Stirling Moss, who was involved in the accident, was subsequently sued by Meyrat's widow.

Please post anything else you might find relevant.

There is every chance that Fausto Meyrat's wreck is also found in the book. Sample pages jump from 135 to 309, skipping the year 1959.
I'm sorry to disappoint you, there's no picture in the book, only a small description of the accident.

OK, thanks for checking. If possible, could you scan and post that passage? Assuming you still have the book at hand.

Made a final attempt, but to no avail.

This shows nothing to do with either of the two accidents of the Aston Martin, and only mentions Fairman's off, but:

I'd apparently overlooked something in an old British Pathé video, here:

I think it could be Fairman shown briefly at 0:47-0:48, but not sure.

You think that's Udo Klinkel, co-author of the 1000km book?
Professional photographer, living in Bad Neunahr-Ahrweiler, 40 minutes from the Nürburgring

For the record: I tried to contact him. He has not responded to my message on facebook. So I tried to give him a call. Which is not unusual from my (work) experience. Most people have no problem with that. He has, apparently. Talked to his wife. Heard him in the background loudly saying (shouting) that he doesn't answer to any kind of private inquiries about motor racing.

I hope at least she was kind enough...
Let's set his house on fire.

She was extremely friendly and also seemed a bit confused by his reaction. Needless to say, I was also surprised as he's constantly sharing his photographs in this group on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/295807997504751/
Probably he's received too many calls. Or been asked the same questions too many times. I can't tell.

Let's set his house on fire.
That seems quite harsh, don't you think so? :suspicious:
But we should try to get in touch with Jan Hettler. He lives in Munich as far as I know.

Could be. It's strange he had this kind of reaction...
