Looking for further info about this, motorsportmemorial does not have this on record (if it was indeed a fatal accident). This is Langhorne, 1957. A grisly picture, but a telling reminder of where we have come from with this sport. That’s Bob Whitbeck’s #22, driven by Pete Corey, on its side in the pit area. As you can see, there are injured people everywhere. At least one was reported to have received fatal injuries. (Photographer unknown)

I have no evidence to support the theory of any fatalities in relation to this one.
Well, here's more on Corey aka "The Crescent Hillbilly":

Solved, and moved, it wasn't a fatal accident.
No, there isn't. There's one very much alive man half-lying in the centre of the pic, and that's it.As you can see, there are injured people everywhere.

There's some aftermath of this somewhere, I'm certain. I saw it ages ago on Youtube, but I don't think it's still there.

This links to articles, naming the 4 injured mechanics:
http://racersreunion.com/ed-mudd/galler ... -pit-crash
Frank Bonish, John Mundorf, Carl Smith, and then the only one with life-threatening injuries, Clarence Delcamp. The latter very much survived this, and this is probably him: https://www.ancestry.com/genealogy/reco ... p_61954814
I'll add the video to the list of lost footage. The race was the 1957 Langhorne 100-mile National Sportsman Stock Car Race, listed here as 7th National Open:
