Well, they do rhyme, as such. It's one of those mondegreens.

Steven Tyler wrote:Pack up your troubles in your old kit bag
You gotta dance to the tune of Bolivian Ragamuffin
Outtakes, short breaks
Love her 'till the earth quakes

Standing on the seashore looking at the city
See the street light, dog bite your lady on the titty
At the wax museum everybody cares to see themselves
As others care to see you but nobody wants to be you, baby

Corporate, cabbage head
Try and get a salad made
Hold my pickle, hold your lettuce
Special orders don't upset us

Kickstand face, looks so evil like Knievel
Never make third base like a tongue in my old lady
Like a squatez-vous and a domo arigato
Tip my hat to you, rock a roller obbligatto

Stage show come in stride
smoke a bone I'm feeling fine
Girls in heat will try and get us
Hash in bones won't upset us

He need cash....Kick in the pants
Wanting for....Got to dance
Say it ahh....To you to give us the chance

Ain't going to do it...ain't going to do it

Of all the ludicrous nonsense lyrics this band ever produced, this takes the cake, plus frosting. I wonder if it's a simple perve over that uproarishly funny scene in the TCM where the girl is hung up in chains, etc., with Leatherface fucking around, taken to some obscurely bizarre everyday flash-of-moment context. Either way, it's bloody ridiculous. In fact, very Ramones. And love that Joey accentuates "massacré", in order to rhyme with "me", then says "meh", this is the no. one idiot band, Bonzo-Dog-Doo-Dah ain't even in the same friggin' league. Total fuckhead band, couldn't do wrong by me. Or, maybe, possibly, meh... :haha:

---

Oh, oh, oh
Sitting here with nothin' to do
Sitting here thinkin' only of you
But you'll never get out of there
She'll never get out of there.
Texas chain saw massacre
They took my baby away from me
But she'll never get out of there
She'll never get out of there
I don't care*, wohoho

When I saw her on the corner
She told me told me told me told me
She wouldn't go far
Ooh, now I know I'm so much in love
'Cause she's the only girl that I'm ever thinking of

---

* = I've never stopped laughing at this. Ever.

À propos of not caring. Or, minding, as it were.

Nonsense? Certainly not faux-weltschmerz of the Nirvana-type. Extreme pain from drug withdrawal? Probably. But in that case, it combines the physiological with the psychological. Net result is one of the greatest pieces of rock lyrics I've ever heard. This actually happened to them. More or less as they performed. Horrible thing, yet still art to its utmost consequence. Alice in Chains were the last genuine artists of the Decadent school. Suicide music.

---

Angry Chair

Sitting on an angry chair
Angry walls that steal the air
Stomach hurts and I don't care

What do I see across the way, hey
See myself molded in clay, oh
Stares at me, yeah I'm afraid, hey
Changing the shape of his face, aw yeah

Candles red I have a pair
Shadows dancing everywhere
Burning on the angry chair

Little boy made a mistake, hey
Pink cloud has now turned to gray, oh
All that I want is to play, hey
Get on your knees, time to pray, boy

I don't mind, yeah
I don't mind, I-I-I [2x]
Lost my mind, yeah
But I don't mind, I-I-I
Can't find it anywhere
I don't mind

Corporate prison, we stay, hey
I'm a dull boy, work all day, oh
So I'm strung out anyway, hey

Loneliness is not a phase
Field of pain is where I graze
Serenity is far away

Saw my reflection and cried, hey
So little hope that I died, oh
Feed me your lies, open wide, hey
Weight of my heart, not the size, oh

I don't mind, yeah
I don't mind, I-I-I [2x]
Lost my mind, yeah
But I don't mind, I-I-I
Can't find it anywhere
I don't mind, I-I-I

Pink cloud has now turned to gray
All that I want is to play
Get on your knees time to pray, boy

Just horrible. Never done no drugs myself, but I can somehow empathize, even so.

Those lyrics are definitely quite strong. The only thing I can't put my finger on is the angry chair and wall thing.

http://songmeanings.com/songs/view/11771/ <--- top comment below lyrics.

It's all the more horrible when it's actually an account of his own death, more or less.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Layne_Staley#Death
On April 19, 2002, Staley's accountants contacted Staley's former manager Susan Silver and informed her that no money had been withdrawn from the singer's bank account in two weeks. Silver then contacted Staley's mother Nancy McCallum, who was at his door a few days earlier trying to ask him if he heard about the death of Demri Parrott's brother but there was no answer. With no answer again and hearing Staley's cat Sadie, placed the call with 911 to say she hadn't heard from him "in about two weeks." The police went with McCallum and her ex-husband to Staley's home, "When police kicked in the door to Layne Staley's University District apartment on April 19, there, sitting on a couch, lit by a flickering TV, next to several spray-paint cans on the floor, not far from a small stash of cocaine, near two crack pipes on the coffee table, holding a fully loaded syringe in his right hand, and the syringe in his leg, reposed the remains of the rock legend." It was reported that the 6 ft Staley weighed only 86 pounds (39 kg) when his body was discovered.

1:32-1:44.
And the last known survivor
Stalks his prey in the night
And he's watching us all with the eye of the tiger
http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/survivor ... tiger.html

Right, so, if he's the last survivor, who's he known to, then. Himself? What prey's he stalking. He's the last survivor, right. You just said so, you beret-wearing dipshit. And he's watching us, that makes a little bit more sense, seeing as we're all apparently dead, by now. Then again, if you're poncing around after dark looking at or for dead people with predatory intent, you've gotta be pretty sort of effed in the head, anyway.

In the brown house on the green road
Where they stand there, look out the window
In the brown house on the green road
Where the broken hearts are made of solid gold

There's a light it shines on another shore
And it looks so close to me
There's a world arrive in the dead of night
And it's wider than the sea
All the light to the darkest sea

And you see they all wait through another day
Can you send a line to me
On the river that winds to a better time
And it's wider than the sea
All the light to the darkest sea

In the brown house on the green road
Where they stand there, look out the window
In the brown house on the green road
Where the broken hearts are made of solid gold

Gold, yeah yeah

Can you see they all wait through another day
Can you send a line to me
On the river that winds to a better time
And it's wider than the sea
All the light to the darkest sea
Hi-hi-hi, hi-hi-hi, hi-hi-hi

In the brown house on the green road
Where they stand there, look out the window
In the brown house on the green road
Where the broken hearts are made of solid gold
Where the broken hearts are made of solid gold
Where the broken hearts are made of solid gold

"Bitches Crystal" by ELP is either a cocaine/heroin abuse analogy, or too wild a fantasy fiction trip to fit the more restrained and epic Tarkus-narrative on the other side of this classic prog piece of vinyl. Either way, it's too slightly arabesque or poetically imaginative to have been penned by Sinfield. Lake probably wrote it. Very powerful either way you regard it. It could of course all be nonsense. I'm not quite sure, as it works on any level. It could even be a stab at religion. Who knows.

---

Bitches Crystal
Knows how you
Twist all the lines

Fortune Teller
Future Seller
Of time

Tortured spirits cry
Fear is in their eyes
Ghostly images die

Witches Potion
Mixed in the ocean
Of tears

Mystical Powers
Emerge from the towers
Of fear

Tortured spirits cry
Fear is in their eyes
Ghostly images die

Evil learning
People burning
Savage casting
No one lasting

Witchcraft
Sadness
Madness
Turning in their minds

Evil learning
People burning
Savage casting
No one lasting

Witchcraft
Sadness
Madness
Turning in their minds

Ritual killings
That swear in
The shillings to be

Heretic Priestess
Dwells on the
Weakness she sees

Tortured spirits cry
Fear is in their eye
Ghostly images die

(EMO version by me)

"Spring was never waiting for us, girl ( :sorrow: )
It ran one step ahead ( )
As we followed in the dance ( :suspicious: )
Between the parted pages and were pressed ( :amazed: )
In love's hot, fevered iron ( )
Like a stripéd pair of pants ( :haha: )

MacArthur's Park is melting in the dark ( )
All the sweet, green icing flowing down ( )
Someone left the cake out in the rain ( :sarcasm: )
I don't think that I can take it ( :omg: )
'Cause it took so long to bake it ( )
And I'll never have that recipe again ( :( )
Oh no! ( :haha: )

I recall the yellow cotton dress ( ;) )
Foaming like a wave ( :wow: )
On the ground around your knees ( )
The birds, like tender babies in your hands ( )
And the old men playing checkers by the trees ( :dunno: )

MacArthur's Park is melting in the dark ( )
All the sweet, green icing flowing down ( )
Someone left the cake out in the rain ( :sarcasm: )
I don't think that I can take it ( :omg: )
'Cause it took so long to bake it ( )
And I'll never have that recipe again ( :( )
Oh no! ( :haha: :haha: )

[Totally "Nice" Bridge]

There will be another song for me ( :) )
For I will sing it ( ;) )
There will be another dream for me ( )
Someone will bring it ( )
I will drink the wine while it is warm ( :annoyed: )
And never let you catch me looking at the sun ( )
And after all the loves of my life ( :whistling: )
After all the loves of my life ( )
You'll still be the one ( )

I will take my life into my hands and I will use it ( )
I will win the worship in their eyes and I will lose it ( )
I will have the things that I desire ( :twothumbs: )
And my passion flow like rivers through the sky ( :jaw: )
And after all the loves of my life ( )
Oh, after all the loves of my life ( :haha: )
I'll be thinking of you ( )
And wondering why ( )

[Totally "ELP" Bridge]

MacArthur's Park is melting in the dark ( )
All the sweet, green icing flowing down ( )
Someone left the cake out in the rain ( :sarcasm: )
I don't think that I can take it ( :omg: )
'Cause it took so long to bake it ( )
And I'll never have that recipe again ( :( )
Oh no! ( :haha: :haha: :haha: )

Oh no
No
Oh no!"

Well, I get it. Totally.

I had to look up the actual lyrics....
Mmm, mmm
Zabadak
Karakakora kakarakak
Zabadak
Shai shai skagalak
Zabadak (zabadak)
Karakakora kakarakak (karakak, karakak)
Zabadak
Shai shai skagalak
Zabadak (zabadak)
Karakakora kakarakak (karakak, karakak)
Zabadak
Shai shai skagalak
Zabadak (look for meaning)
Karakakora kakarakak (not in words but)
Zabadak (in the way)
Shai shai skagalak (you're feeling)
Zabadak (if it's love)
Karakakora kakarakak (we'll understand for love)
Zabadak (is all)
Shai shai skagalak (revealing)

Mmm, mmm

Zabadak (like a rhythm)
Karakakora kakarakak (like a spell, it)
Zabadak (sets your)
Shai shai skagalak (soul in motion)
Zabadak (love that's sure)
Karakakora kakarakak (could rule the world, a)
Zabadak (tide to)
Shai shai…

Jesper Hvid wrote: 10 years agoCecil Aagaard (singer) was a Norwegian jazz vocalist genius, and Leo "The Lion" Mathiesen (piano/cigars/composer) was a Danish living legend, until the Wehrmacht censored him, and 30 seconds later, he was a legend once more, all he did was scat the lyrics, instead (as English was suddenly totally verboten), and then the people would jive, all the same.
Finally found it, again. Hadn't seen it it since the mid-'80s.

7:54-10:21. Totally not verboten, as long as it's not in English... "Decadent n*****-jazz" OK, tho. He's actually egging on the Danish resistance in a bizarre way that you couldn't possibly grasp, but it's there, and quite in overtones ("hang a nazi, dah-dah...", *makes stabbing motion*, etc.). :haha:

Probably in my top-10 of the most absurd cultural things, ever.
