At the end of the day, a lot of these musical styles are similar and it's the vocals that are making the difference...Stryper and Miss Behaviour are almost identical. I've struggled to find a good Dokken song.

So you can't take the Crue seriously because of how they look and act despite the awesomeness of some of their songs? And Mick Mars is a damn talented guitarist. And their stage shows are second to none.

They actually have a bit in common, allthough Stryper is far better!

Regarding MC, it is a band with a good drummer, an ok guitarplayer and bassplayer, and one hell of a bad singer, at least live. But still, they have some good songs. I'm seeing them at Sweden Rock festival in about a week, and even though I know for sure that they will suck, it's still going to be fun.

I think W.A.S.P. picked up the gauntlet dropped by MC, right around about 1984, actually.

The Mentors' view on the subject, which must be taken into account. Or possibly a cunt.

No, guess not, but it's raw and sexual, like a coded request for the chicks in the audience to massively jump the band, backstage, which I'm sure was the case, cue ongoing discussion about the essence of r'n'r. The very tempo of the song is like sexual intercourse.

Howsoever the case may be, it seems to me that there was quite a change in direction in US Metal at the time (mid-80s), and there were several quality bands got drowned out, because the decade was such an extreme creative explosion.

Warren dug this lot, I picked up along the way, but dug too:

Unfortunately, they were more than a bit cartoonish, but musically, no complaints from me. Twisted Sister were like the Scooby Doo of Heavy Metal, but as I'm very fond of Scooby Doo, I'll let it rest, coz I ain't gonna take it, see. Quiet Riot were like a bunch of wannabes chasing the Ozzy tour van, Kiss effectively died in the 80s, and the glammy appearance probably in essence goes back to the milestone Bowie album "Ziggy Stardust", where the entire concept of transvestite rock was put into a sort of intellectual and timeless state.

Always wondered about this song, who's suffrage is in question, after all. The man who likes to dress up like a woman, but who is hetero, whether it be on stage, or in bedroom.

I think it's genetic, and we mustn't blame them.

It's to do with the upbringing, really.

Be Chrool to your Scuel.

Jesper, I've been listening to the Crue with Corabi album and there's something about it that just seems miles better than other Crue stuff.

I fucking love this:

The whole album is far better than the rest of the Crüe stuff put together, save the groundbreaking Shout..., which was way heavier than most stuff of its time, but it was more Shock Rock than Sleaze, and Glam is just a misnomer. The Corabi album shows what they were musically capable of, outside of this LA niche, and the weirdest thing is, they fucking fired John shortly after, because the music they were playing "wasn't happening anymore", ridiculous coming from a cartoonish band that belongs to the 80s. The self-titled album was the only one showing any sort of soul. The Crüe are just a bunch of clowns, and Tommy Lee's wasted 90 per cent of his talent.

He thought he could inject it into Pamela Anderson, didn't he?

i agree that tommy lee was a very good drummer but they were too wasted to play virtuosistic style.

And Heather Locklear's to the right of Vince in the Autograph-video, just noticed. The Swamp Thing's sitting a bit farther to the left... :haha:
