Geordie bastards Raven are to be considered as the "rockingest" NWOBHM band, and in the process, also invented speed/power metal, they were all over the place, in fact, and this is no exception. They completely flopped with this album, which included horn sections, and certain elements of Britsch silliness on an hitherto unseen level. It was a sort of unintentional Spïnal Tap effort. They soon returned with a really Sicillian vengeance, but what remains to be explained are the 'Priest and Saxon albums, that later ventured into the same territory. In the 80s, the burnt child did not dread the fire. That is probably the reason.

I believe Hanoi Rocks also used saxophones and stuff, glam rock with saxophones, imagine that, but it worked brilliantly. Probably because it was in the States, the British didn't appreciate Raven's sense of humour. Bad News were booed off the stage at Donington, once, too. GWAR also used a horn section in Saddam A-Go-Go. Can't really see them carrying on without Oderus/Brockie, and besides, they started to suck 15 years ago, anyway.

What do you mean "maybe the madman was right"? Of course he was. Is. He took the green pill. He's never more than one mental pace away from either reality or fantasy.

"I" must be weird cause lookin back thru some of the pages of "Weird Songs" I find many not weird at all. re: Link Wray for one.
When I think weird I'm inclined to think along the lines of......
