 Thanks for that. Unbelieveable that footage exists...I'd have never imagined. Thanks very much for this.

Some people with their big mouths on a other site were constantly screaming that there was NO footage...

Those people are assholes. There will always be evidence to be found. We've proved that to be true, time and time again.

Thank you all for this quite amazing piece of motorsport history. I am sure that there is much more 'private' footage of this and other crashes around the world. Simply, we'll never know for sure... I recall when I was searching for new documents about Willy Mairesse. I found this guy in Germany, who happened to be at the right place at the right time, when Mairesse lost his car and crashed it in the embankment at 'Flugplatz' during the 1963 German GP.
He had his 8 mm camera with him and filmed it. Or at least part of it. There is no reason to believe that there isn't much more out there. The biggest challenge though, is to find those guys, who for most of them will be in their early 60's late 70's if not older!

well definitely, and this is the case of Bellof's files.
But here there was a matter of wrong id. Someone said it was another crash but now we got the proof it was Collins, and footage was still available on the net, etc etc.
But don't worry, I don't think I wanna see the face of Collins after the crash, the shunt was very hard

It's very interesting to get information about racing in the 50s from 1st hand.

Yes, definitely. There aren't many left from that era. Fortunately, several of them managed to write autobiographies.

Oh peoples, i believe this is not the accident from 1958 Nürburgring GP, look at the cars, there is a Porsche from 1959 until 1961, definitive! The Porsche was the 4 cyl. 718 from 59 and 60 a F2 car, there is a little BRM-Lotus or Lotus 21 This are cars from 1961 but not before!
And the other cars look like from the year 60 or 61! 1958 the onliest rear engine car was the cooper, in this scene where a sharp right turn is, are all rear engine cars!!! All the other great 2,5 liter cars was front engine cars. The right turn scene is not the accident from Peter Collins! The cars are all much to tiny for the big 2,5 liter cars. Maybe F2 or F1 with the 1,5 liter cars. And i don´t know what position in the Pflanzgarten section this turn is, cause the Pflanzgarten is way steeper... Maybe really the accident from Solitude?

Please look yourself

Thomas

PS: This is not afront or so...
