Bottom post of the previous page:

That would certainly explain why they first showed the unknown crash and then moments later the fatal crash of Von Trips, it must be from some highlight program from back in the day, like Castrol used to do them.

Aftermath of Peter Collins' accident, the left part of the photograph I've cropped away, as there probably isn't really any interest in seeing his corpse.

The photograph shows Peter's Ferrari standing on its tail. Sadly I have no scanner.

I have this which is taken just after the one shown in Mon Ami Mate:

Let's move this to solved, now. Original footage showed Gerry Ashmore, 1961, Monza F1, as pointed out by Coland. His video was at youtube for a while, don't know if it's still there.

Here is the full pic (joined), part of which was posted earlier, for the sake of closure. You will note that the body of Collins is close by the car, which did not go into the trees, let alone do any apparent damage to the fence. The theory that he was ejected from the car, and struck a tree, is hereby shot down. The "Schadelbasisbruch" (basal skull fracture) as cause of death is not, however, in the least unlikely.

Warning, etc.

Moved, and solved - there is no footage of the fatal accident of Peter Collins.

You found also the wreck of De Tornaco... That's incredible.

I've been looking for it for 3 years, but I've never found it since now. What's the source?

The german book "Rennfahrertod" by Michael Behrndt and Jörg Thomas Födisch contains a colour-photograph of the wrecked Ferrari. Very similar to the ones already posted.

The book contains one other new picture of a fatal accident, but I forgot which one it was... it's not worth buying I'd say.

EDIT: I think it was one from the 1960 Belgian GP - so Bristow or Stacey. I'll take a photo soon.

It seems that that book has a lot of crashes... :wow:

Yes, it talks about quite a few. But NOTHING new or relevent in terms of pictures or information.

Except the ones I mentioned: German GP 1958 and Belgian GP 1960. All the other pictures are well known to us. In only 50% of the cases a picture of the wreck is shown...

Looking at that table, i think we miss Lewis-evans, Schell, Taylor, Anderson, Moser. If there is any visual media.

But we do have Lewis-Evans' aftermath, very short clip, and Taylor, as well, aftermath clip. Maybe you mean pics.

Well... For "visual media" I mean anything that shows the car after the crash or part of it.

We have the Lewis-Evans' aftermath, but we could only see smoke (I'd like to know what is the source for that video).
Same for Taylor: a lot of smoke, but not the car (and in the AParchive there's aftermath of Guy Ligier's crash in the same race, not seen before).

I think I'm too finicky...

EDIT: is this Moser's car?

The wreck to the right is, yes. Hit the car on the left.
