If Bob was not the most significant Australian motor racing person after Brock and Brabham then he was close to it.

A list of some of Bob's achievements:
- Won what is now known as the Bathurst 1000 and the Australian Supercars series four times each
- Started one of the better known automotive retailers in the country (Bob Jane T-Marts)
- Ran a successful racing team for a number of years
- Ran two circuits (Calder Park and Adelaide International)
- Built the only superspeedway in the country at Calder to start a popular Australian NASCAR series (and brought many top American drivers to race there in exhibition events)
- Got several F1 stars to make guest appearances in the Australian Grand Prix, which he promoted at Calder from 1980 to 1984

Another article regarding Bob Jane, his story and place in motorsport

https://www.speedcafe.com/2011/10/07/bob-jane/

Certainly one of the main achievers and influences in Aussie Motor Sport. He has left quite a legacy and was very generous as a backer to many. He will be missed by many. He always had a story to tell in the days before he dropped out of public life due to health reasons.

RIP Bob Jane.

I was aware of the feud between he and eldest son Rod, but thought it was resolved after the son sued Bob for in effect the business. It was not and they never reconciled. Rodney's name was missing from all the family tributes. Sad process for Bob to have to deal with on top of his cancer.
The story of the bitter feud.

Nice touch in tribute to an icon in Aussie motorsport.

Supercars teams will pay tribute to the late Bob Jane at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000.

The four-time Australian Touring Car Champion and Armstrong 500 winner died last week following a long battle with prostate cancer, aged 88.

To mark the passing of the legendary figure in Australian motorsport Supercars has orchestrated a fitting tribute at Mount Panorama.

A special sticker has been designed depicting Jane which will be carried by all 26 cars throughout the remainder of the weekend.

Brad Jones Racing’s ZB Commodores already have branding on their cars to pay their respects to Jane, who was godfather to team owners Brad and Kim Jones.

In addition to the teams’ tribute Bob’s nephew Kim Jane will drive a replica of the Ford Cortina GT that Jane and Harry Firth drove to victory at Bathrust in 1963 in the Heroes and Legends parade prior to Sunday’s race.
