OH GOD IT HAD A ROTARY ENGINE.
Amazing stuff, hope that a crazy series like can am would exist nowadays. The only event where we can see crazy cars like this it's the World Time Attack Challenge. and it's once a year.

No this one runs in the 'added fibre' category of that class.Michael Ferner wrote: ↑4 years ago Which racing class is that? Cereal boxes up to 500 kcal per 100 g?

What does the article/lengthy paragraph ('heard of run-on sentences of course...but run-on paragraphs???) about B Spec Showroom Stock ("American Honda Motor Co., Inc.; and MAZDASPEED Motorsports Development, the performance division of Mazda North American Operations, unveiled their entries for the proposed new low-cost B-Spec, developed from the MAZDA2 and Honda Fit" ) have to do with what looks like could be a home made bodied "B Sports Racer" (tho' it says "BS" not BSR)?
And how do you know it's a rotary mattia2?
edit: Thank you hollie. What engine's in it and in what class does it run? Got me all cornfused......sure as hell isn't B Sedan.
Any links?
edit II: Aah-ha! 'Just magnifying glassed that little "R" after the "BS" on the nose.
Those were the days my friends, we thought they'd never end.....

In 1984, Bill Hill decided to blend a selection of March parts and a Mazda 12A Rotary engine to create the Marzda marque.

Bill Hill competed e.g. in the 1984 Can-Am season:jimclark wrote: ↑4 years agoWhat does the article/lengthy paragraph ('heard of run-on sentences of course...but run-on paragraphs???) about B Spec Showroom Stock ("American Honda Motor Co., Inc.; and MAZDASPEED Motorsports Development, the performance division of Mazda North American Operations, unveiled their entries for the proposed new low-cost B-Spec, developed from the MAZDA2 and Honda Fit" ) have to do with what looks like could be a home made bodied "B Sports Racer" (tho' it says "BS" not BSR)?

Here's a post from 'Racecar Warehouse' on Facebook:
Photos to be found here:Just arrived March 722-38 restoration project.
Car was raced in USA FB before it was converted to run Mazda 12A engine and Can am bodywork in the Under 2 litre class and known as the Marzda Bananacrate car raced by Bill Hill. After this car had run in 3 Can am races he then acquired a Lola T360 to race with Mazda powering Can am events
The March sat in the garage and was taken out for an event in 1986 but Bill had a major accident in the car and the car sat in the garage until recently when the widow sold off the race cars and kit.
March 722 damaged tub with plate suspension uprights Girling callipers disc brakes Girling/Armstrong dampers.
Also available is a selection of March 76B bodywork and 782 side pods

According to a different (imho credible) facebook posts, Hill died under tragic circumstances in a fireworks accident in the factory where he worked.

Oiy. I just reviewed my browser history and had done an SCCA search for "B Spec" class and came up with the lengthy paragraph I referenced https://www.scca.com/articles/1996246-m ... lub-racingmattia2 wrote: ↑4 years agoLiterally in the first sentence of the article that Hollie postedjimclark wrote: ↑4 years agoWhat does the article/lengthy paragraph ('heard of run-on sentences of course...but run-on paragraphs???) about B Spec Showroom Stock ("American Honda Motor Co., Inc.; and MAZDASPEED Motorsports Development, the performance division of Mazda North American Operations, unveiled their entries for the proposed new low-cost B-Spec, developed from the MAZDA2 and Honda Fit" ) have to do with what looks like could be a home made bodied "B Sports Racer" (tho' it says "BS" not BSR)?

which I later thought was hollie's article (that I hadn't read but thought I did. I thought hollie's was the source of my confusion)....
More evidence of my advancing age......

Yup, the pain and the agony. On the other hand, 'short term being the first to go, at least we (I'm assuming) can remember the better times for all of racing... (in my opinion, 1960ish 'til around '90ish...)

Absolutely! I can still rattle off the names of all World Champions in my sleep, until around 2000 that is, after that I have to wake up to continue! Doesn't bother me one bit.

Yup, I still remember some of those 70's races, and late 60's, better than some from the last year or two.
