Interesting career for Kurt Ahrens. This is what really stands out from that webpage though:

Nice shot there.
I haven't found the folder with the newspaper articles on Kurt Ahrens Jr. yet, but a pic of him as a kid on his dads 'speedway' - (sort of asphalted oval for bicycle races) bike after Sr. won a race near Braunschweig in the exhibition catalogue, I still have in my shelf along the "Prinzenpark-Rennen" book by Eckhard Schimpf.

Never seen or heard of this before
This happened 10 days before Kurt Ahrens accident also at Ehra Lessien and also a Longtail 917
Willi Kauhsen was lucky to walk away from this horrifying shunt. In April 1970 Porsche tested the 917 longtail variant at the very fast Ehra-Lessien test track. While driving the car at a speed of 350km/h (217 mph) he was surprised by sudden rain and the car went off the road. Ten days before, Kurt Ahrens survived a similar accident.
