On second thoughts, the bit about the road course no longer existing suggests an oval of sorts, so maybe Thompson Raceway in Massachusetts?
Very good! These photos are from the late 1950s and show the early road course of the Thompson Speedway.
I have to make one tiny correction. The Thompson Speedway (/International Speedway/Speedway Motorsports Park) and the town with the same name still lies in Connecticut but is bordered by several towns in Massachusetts.

Some footage of the track:

And a video about its track layout history which I just found:

How can it be the American Midwest when it's 2,000 miles from Continental Divide?

W/o looking at a map, I'd say some Northeastern track, maybe even Canada.
Because I didn't have enough information to nail down the location and the most land area shared by both 2000 and 1000 mile circles is the eastern part of the US.

Sorry, I didn't want to embarrass you, but doesn't the mere name Continental Divide suggest American Midwest, even w/o knowing where exactly the track of that name is located? But it's okay, let's not dwell on it :shake hands:

:dunno:

The Long-ines advertisement lead you at least halfway there, hm?

That's Spencer Martin in a Ferrari 250LM in 1966 right before the viaduct.

Looks british. At least so many Capri's. But most drivers sit in the left seat.

I thought at first it might havee been one of the Capri single make races (they also held them with Escort Mexicos) held as celebrity races with the likes of of Graham Hill etc racing in them in the support races at the British GP. (Also thought that because of the crowd size)..... then I saw the cars were LHD and not all Capris so that knocked that thought out. Plus it isnt Silverstone or Brands. :dunno:

The photo actually might be from the inaugural meeting of the track (unsure, certainly not too long after the track was opened). But you're far off with the UK.

This is a tough one to be honest.

I think you are onto something there. It must be a Spanish speaking country, since I can see "Autonida" written on one of the cars.

Somewhere like Comodoro Rivadavia (Autódromo General San Martín)?
