GeneRally
Who ever used to play Generally? http://gene-rally.com/
I just discovered an ancient bookmark, and re-downloaded it.
Wasted so many hours back in the day, and guess what? It's still fun!
Anyone interested in a hotlap competition or something?

I am totally amazed that someone still knows about this game. I still have a big folder with add-on tracks and cars saved on one of my old HDs.
There was also a Top Gear test track version that I used to compare laptimes on during my English traineeship in the winter of 06-07.
Many hours have passed since I did my first lap. The track editor was great fun as well.

I used to make my own (crappy) tracks. I think Alonsomania (if he's here) was a regular of the community.
Loved that game. Spent many nights playing it. At first with friends as a kid, then growing up to fill that nostalgia and to kill time. Then to kill time, when all I had was a crappy laptop for entertainment. Crappy, as in "too slow for modern browsers" -crappy.
I also had that laptop with me at the army. Along with GeneRally. I was never that fast, nor did I intend to hotlap. But it was fun. And would still probably be.

I never did anything amazing with it (track building, or hot lapping in competitions), but it was great fun.
The few laps that I did last night were shocking though. I remember not being completely crap at it!
GeneRally2 probably won't ever come out at the rate they're making it.

Make sure to configure your wheel and pedals correctly. It's an older game, but there should be a hotfix available somewhere for more modern setups.

Generally is best played with 3 players per keyboard. Best one that only accepts 6 simultaneous inputs.
