hmmm, I guess I'm a bit in the same situation as you.
I'd like to play Forza (racing limousines and the Ferrari F40), but I'd have to buy an XBox especially for it.
Is that worth it?

Depends really how much interest and time you want to spend on it.
These F1 games have come a long way from really sucking to near-simulation, advanced and enjoyable games.

If you have a good PC and steering wheel, maybe stick to that?

On another note, there are some really good games out there for PS4, and many brilliant games coming as well, including Gran Turismo (*), Project Cars, Wolfenstein, Call of Duty WWIII

(*) correct me if I'm wrong, but the new Gran Turismo will be limited to racing cars only, sadly. Not the huge selection of cars and tracks there used to be.

if you've got the money, buy it. The PS4 allows you to do many other things as well, eg. watch Blu Rays, watch Netflix, ...

just one important note: to play the game online, you will need Playstation Network Plus, which comes at an additional cost of about € 50 per year.
I remember being upset about that, as I had already paid so much for the console + games.

Codemasters confirms McLaren engine glitch in career mode. Any development you put towards the engine in the R&D-section doesn't work.

Baffling realism.

Well, the engine glitch is patched. So my Honda is beefed up a bit now. I had to up the difficulty level a tad to make sure I don't qualify too close to the front. :P

But, man, the AI is brilliant in this game. Yes, they can be a bit blunt at times, but they usually don't divebomd you (I still remember Surtees in GPL). They race you all the way, and they will defend the position. When this game is at it's best, it's absolutely brilliant.

Moved on to season two in career mode, I left McLaren at the end of season one, round out the season with a bunch of 10th place finishes, and a lucky podium at Mexico after all front runners encountered car issues. Jumped ship to Red Bull, and it's fantastic to see how the teams develop in career mode.

Ferrari has overhauled Mercedes as the fastest car, and Red Bull developed the engine during season one to close the gap to the two teams infront. Kimi dominated at Albert Park, where I beat Bottas, Hamilton and Vettel to the second step of the podium. At China Kimi was running away with the race until he promptly retired with a blown engine, handing the race lead to, well, yours truly. I love how Codemasters has implemented the dynamic weather in the game, as we had to spend a few laps skidding around on supersofts waiting for the track to become wet enough for inters. In the end, it was a glorious 1-2 for Red Bull (woo! first win!) with Ocon in the FI taking his first podium. At Bahrain Vettel won by some 13 seconds, but once again I managed to fend off the Mercedes, quite easily at that, to finish second.

Also the two Williams and FI are significantly closer to the top of the field compared to season one. Brilliant work, Codies! :twothumbs:

but drivers don't move between teams I guess?

Eg. Hamilton in Ferrari for 2019; Raikkonen in Renault for 2024
