I know nothing about rFactor editing but most textures for NR2003 start life as TGA's and I always have one of two in a track that don't have compression in them bumping the size up that I have to go back and correct.
One thing I've learnt though, you cannot please 100% of the people 100% of the time, if your track runs fine for 95% of people with large textures, forget the 5%, even if you completely redesign the track to accommodate them, they'll find something else to complain about.
I am very sorry if you find my posts long and boring, I like to type and often go off on a tangent.

Thanks erwin, I cannot wait to try out this track. I've been looking forward to this for a long time. I must confess that I laughed at this user when I was going through the comments on rFactorcentral last night...
busaman195 wrote:nice track but archived in standard zip. can save almost 100mb with better compression. also, another decent large track that installs at a bloated 550mb because the maker is lazy and dont compile all the textures. instant delete!
That's typical I'm afraid, some people have no appreciation for how much work goes into building a track.

Just tried it out! Great job on such a massive project. Having some texture irregularities and bad FPS on some places, but nothing that makes it undriveable. Great work on the layout!

OMG Rallycross LOL, I built a Rallisprint ROC type track for nr2k3 (even with standing starts), me and AJ had a right laugh on it one night on the server when we got bored but I never really got around to finishing it.

I need to finish this one, got so many projects which are not finished yet.
After this one i want to focus on two projects: Assen TT 1946-1954 and a fantasy track (work title "Project 1".
An updated Hondsrugring will be released this weekend too. After that i will lay down that track aside for a while.

I've done the same pretty much, it get's too much in the end sometimes, especially when there's other things going on.

For me it's the other way round, I have to finish the project when I have the motivation (usually in the same day or in next few days), otherwise I never get it done. I mean, I get brilliant stuff done in fast pace with good quality and people always liked my novels, presentations et cetera, but I cannot commit to a long-term, personal project.
About the track: Good job Erwin, it looks good and you've done an immense amount of work. Too bad I can't test it because I still don't have a gaming PC. Well, I hope you stick to track making, practice makes perfect and you're already very good it seems.
Square numbers are just like women, if they're under 13 just do them in your head.

Small history:
Originaly this fictional track had 1 layout: The GP-Full circuit layout. After some testing by friends, i was asked to release it as a triple layout track pack.
The National and Club circuit were added. Then after a while i decided to do something with the Intermediate circuit shortcut which was not used at that moment. I added an extra single track to build the Intermediate circuit, the short GP layout and a month later also the Rally full course layout.
The 6 layouts are:
HZ-GP circuit Full Course ( 3.973 km/ 2.46 mile)
Used for: All major events.
Start and finish at National Pitbuilding.
Grid: 60 cars
HZ-GP circuit Short Course ( 3.613 km/ 2.25 mile)
Used for: Lower formula and touringcar series.
Start and finish at National Pitbuilding.
Grid: 40 cars
HZ-Club circuit ( 1.609 km/ 1 mile)
Used for: Karts, lower formula and touringcar series, including Nascar and IRL/CART mods.
Start and finish at Club Pitbuilding.
Grid: 40 cars
HZ-National Circuit ( 2.100 km/ 1.31 mile)
Used for: Lower touringcar series.
Start and finish at National Pitbuilding.
Grid: 40 cars
HZ-Intermediate Circuit ( 2.115 km/ 1.31 mile)
Used for: Rallycar mods. Tarmac only.
Start and finish at Club Pitbuilding.
Grid: 44 cars
HZ-Rally Full Course ( 2.519 km/ 1.57 mile)
Used for: Rallycar mods. Tarmac and off-road sections.
Start and finish at Club Pitbuilding.
Grid: 40 cars
