Latest post of the previous page:

Looks like Tsunoda might just get an installation lap done to make sure everything is working. He is in the car albeit in the garage. 2 minutes left.

Tsunoda is on track but crawling around keeping out of the way. He might get one timed lap as he beats the Chequered flag.

Tsunoda gets one flyer in and goes 17th ahead of the Haas two and Gio.
Bottas finishes to from Lewis Max Ocon and Sergio. A 1m 17.012s for Bottas was 0.027s ahead of Hamilton, with Verstappen three tenths back.
Alpine looking good both in top 7. Ferraris both just out of the ten
Both Astons in the ten

Both Mercs looked very comfortable, particularly in p2 when whether it was the 62C track temp I dont know, but Max seemed to have a lot of understeer and suffering from set up issues. As mentioned Max was 0.3 shy of the Mercs.

I must admit for much of p1&2 I was distracted by the Silverstone Classic live stream so not following as intently as normal.
At Silverstone Classic the Masters Endurance Legends Sports cars just going out. A bit damp but tbh more my scene than modern F1 at Hungary!

Verstappen finishes in P1 with a 1m 17.555s, 0.061s ahead of Bottas. Hamilton is a further tenth back down the road. All of them were set on softs although we dont know fuel and engine mode etc. All quite close though. Sergio had his usual slow start down in 8th.
Not sure what happened to the Alfas, as Gio was last /slowest and Kubica is the other one not much faster. Gio only used one set of tyres so resume he had an issue.

Both Alpines were in the to 11, Alonso the faster in 6th, and both Alpha Tauris in the to 12 despite Yuki not finishing the session. Astons 10th and 13th with Stroll quicker, and the fastest Macca was Lando in 9th albeit a second off the ace, Danny a further 0.7 back.

The behind the scenes talk on Sky is blah blah blah about 'the crash' and the review. Hey guys, its over, its done, its history and no one that matters cares any more .

Oh yeah, no rain and temps in the early 30's but warmer is promised later.

Ooooh just noticed they (our broadcaster) are playing the 1986 (first modern) Hungarian race in the break between sessions so that will be something to watch between the Silverstone classic. If you want to watch the Classic then stream details are on the forum index page or in the you tube video thread (or the F1 streaming thread. ).

Well, that is the big question... is Mercedes competitive to Red Bull now? Or, more to the point, is the accident last week a bump in the road to Verstappen's championship or actually a real significant turning point?

I am very appreciative, believe me. It was a great moment.

Just missed it for two reasons. The video doesn't show up for me and it's also the longest post I've ever seen on any message board ever :)

Christ that was 35 years ago now. Bizarre to think the Hungarian Grand Prix has been going for 35 years. I still think of it as a new circuit :)

p3 just started. Should be interesting and a chance to see if Max has sorted his p2 handling / setup issues that kept him from matching the Mercs. Slightly cooler today but its warming up. It seems they had a bit of rain overnight. Not a lot but....

p3 times.

More of the same with Hamilton, Bottas and Verstappen looking the likely three to be slugging it out for pole a little later on. Nothing much between Lewis and Max. Hamilton has the pedigree here with seven previous poles at this track, Verstappen has the bit between his teeth after the incident from Silverstone and as for Bottas - he could be racing his career.

Ferrari both looking good and both McLarens in the 10

Schu had an off and damage.

It's easy to have pedigree here when for the last 8 years you've had the best car, and for 15 years you've had a top 3 car, if not top 2.

It must be so demoralizing to be a Haas crewman this season. First, you've got one of the worst cars on the grid so you're never competing for points. Second, you've got two products of nepotism behind the wheel ensuring you get no sleep as your repair their heavily damaged cars all through the night every weekend.
