More double headers in 2021?

#1

Post by PTRACER »

Lots of questions!

1. What did you think of the idea of double headers last year?

2. Which one did you enjoy the most?

3. Would you want to see them again in 2021 and/or in future seasons?

4. If so, which track(s) and which layout(s)?

I think we can all agree that, albeit it was unpopular at first, Bahrain throws in some excellent races.
I enjoyed last year's double header there plentifully.

As long as they change layouts between races, I'm ok with it.

Prefer to avoid them though.

I am with Monte on this one. I'm all for it if they change the layout. I really liked the Bahrain doubleheader. Silverstone and RedBull ring were better than nothing, but not great during round 2.

If they can change the Silverstone layout that would be good. RedBull short track (but that may be too short). They could also try different layouts at Paul Ricard very easily.

Enough lay-outs there to fill multiple seasons - but let's not give them ideas :dunno:

Its a good track. Ok the surroundings are not, lets say, eye candy.

And crowds at Paul Ricard haven't exactly been an issue...

Sadly, like many circuits it does not seem to suit F1 cars..... seen some brilliant racing from other categories on various versions of Ricard, but the F1 cars as usual provide a limited passing borefest there.

Im not a huge fan of the double whammy rounds and see them as just a workaround solution tor Liberty to get their number of races up to meet broadcasting contracts. Bahrain was fun because the track variations. Even changing tyre compounds doesnt work really other than providing drama like at Silverstone where we had a number of tyre failures because of changes. I dont enjoy the low speed tyre conservation races .

:agreepost:

Exactly. Its the series that is the problem, not the track.
