Actually its the opposite. You won time in the corners. As Brian Redman stated: The difference between being competitive and being slow at Spa was picking the right speed, right entry, right apex, right exit. Any mistake there would cost you seconds on the straights.

It's a more honest image than the pictures they fiddle about with these days. The camera never lied back then, it does now!!

I didn't explain myself properly...The difference in lap times between the cars was mostly due to their top speeds on the straight, so for teams like Brabham, or the 2.7 litre Climax cars, the corners didn't make much difference to overall lap time.

In Clark's case, him and Hill were in the same car and the Eagle was even faster in a straight line, so Clark must have made up most of his time in the corners alone.

He could easily have used Photoshop in 2001, I was.

He just wanted to portray Villeneuve in all his sebaceous pussy glory :)

I think he has either revisited his youth now.... or just gone very grey. Plus he has, erm.... a very high forehead these days.

Only one ever. And he lost his life at Eau Rouge in 1985 following an ill fated overtaking attempt on Jacky Ickx
RIP Champ

I was lucky enough to have been at Silverstone the day he made his F2 debut in I guess 1982. Stefan didnt qualify that well but stormed through the field in the damp conditions and won by a huge margin. I still rate him up there with the very best wet weather drivers ever, certainly better thn the much heralded abilities of Senna. Bellof was catching Senna in 'that' race at Monaco. Senna had qualified in the midfield and did well, but Bellof had started stone last and had made his way to 10th by the end of lap 1. When the race was red flagged Bellof was up to 3rd with only Senna and Prost ahead of him. And he did it all without fancy traction control just pure ability and car control.
A very sad loss, and I have no doubt, a future WDC had fate not taken its role.

Plus Senna had hit the wall and would have retired before the race naturally finished, with the suspension collapsing when being moved by mechanics in the pitlane...

Thanks for the picture @Everso Biggyballies   To be honest I don't find him that unattractive still. I mean we've all aged since the previous picture of him. He has more grey hair than I do, I still have more of my original colour  He has less hair than I do too :haha:

@MonteCristo I never cared for his bleached phase either.
