Thing is that some vaccines were not exported to other countries, because of a ban to export them at all. The UK and the US did that massively. The EU exported them, because the belief of you never going to win, when the others do not have a vaccine at all.Drivers With Covid

Yeah, like an EU country blocked a shipment of what had been ordered in a timely fashion by Australia, months ago because they wanted to keep in for Europeans that had faffed around procrastinating about the whole vaccine process..erwin greven wrote: ↑3 years ago Thing is that some vaccines were not exported to other countries, because of a ban to export them at all. The EU have it seems made a pigs ear of this whole vaccination business by politicising and chasing individual agendas as far as I can see.
The EU manufacture the stuff and have tens of millions of doses sitting unused in European member countries, most of who now have a lower vaccine hit rate even than Australia who have only been vaccinating for a few weeks.

I'd read it differently. The UK got better contracts with penalty clauses so az and pf have been trying to honour those. The disorganized EU slow at trying to interveneerwin greven wrote: ↑3 years ago Thing is that some vaccines were not exported to other countries, because of a ban to export them at all. Nonsense. UK has the same contract as the EU. And the EU had a contract ONE day before the UK.

Add McLaren CEO Zak Brown to the list.
In a statement released at Thursday lunchtime, McLaren confirmed Brown and two other members of the team were isolating after testing positive for Covid.
"McLaren Racing confirmed today that three team members, including CEO Zak Brown, tested positive for covid-19 during the team’s rigorous testing programme before the British Grand Prix. Neither of our drivers are close contacts," the statement said.
"All three cases are unconnected and now isolating in accordance with government guidelines. The team’s operations for the British Grand Prix are unaffected."
In a tweet, Brown said he would be working from home throughout the race weekend.

Shit's about to hit the fan. They'll never get out of the UK without a driver case.

Let those 170,000 fans come. Idiots... (and no, not the fans, but the authorities for allowing this to happen).

Yes, that's right. 170,000 sheep who are not in any way responsible for their own behaviour. Stupid authorities who dare to leave responsibility with them.

It has been known for some time that even double jabbed vaccination will not guarantee you dont get it.... maybe 80-90% only immunity due to the constantly evolving new strains. What vaccination more offers is that if you do contract Covid that it should not become a hospital stay scenario and should not kill you.
On todays news ihere it was revealed some double vaccinated health workers in Sydney have contracted Covid. They are expected to fully recover at home with prescribed medication.
I would imagine all of F1's travelling personnel have been double vaccinated.

He probably has, sadly a lot of people who test positive for covid now have been fully vaccinated. It doesn't prevent you getting it, (especially the Delta variant) it just prevents you from getting more seriously ill and dying from it. Or so we're being told anyway.
Opening up Silverstone is just one more decision in a long line of stupid decisions this government has made. Numbers have been going up at a ridiculous rate and especially among men who were going to watch the football it seems. Almost all the restrictions are being eased as of Monday and it's a truly terrifying prospect for a lot of people who haven't yet been fully vaccinated, can't or won't be for whatever reason. We're up to over 40,000 new cases a day and this is how they behave

I understand your point; but after having 1,5 yrs of strict limitations, you would expect that the authorities' allowance implies it being safe.Michael Ferner wrote: ↑2 years ago Yes, that's right. 170,000 sheep who are not in any way responsible for their own behaviour. Maybe we should rename the main race thread "The CoViD Hotspot British Grand Prix" thread?

aren't that week numbers? that's still nearly 7,000 new cases per day - a big number, knowing that most limitations are no longer in place.
