Rookie of 2021
Thee new names for F1 in 2021. Who do you think will do best?
The poll runs for 86 days (so that it closes in time for round 1).
Will be interesting to see how our predictions pan out as the season progresses.

Voted for tsunoda, but it may be distorted by him having a better car tbh.
May be difficult to assess the other two except against each other
Ironically if tsunoda does as well as kyvat in later 2020 everyone will say he's a FWC

The board equivalent of the Jody scheckter chicane. Fast but pointless

Tsunoda, no doubt. His stats are very impressive, much better than Schumacher's. Maybe still a bit rough at the edges, but this is an excellent opportunity for him to mature.

Tsunoda without a doubt in my mind. Given he was in his first year of F2, having got there by winning the previous year's F3 title, and the 2018 Japanese F4 title, he has a far better CV than either of the other two who are at best entitled journeymen.

some recent media reports/speculations hint at Mazepin actually not making the grid due to 'the video'.
in all fairness, he's a 21 year old kid, and we've all done things we've regretted. obviously this isn't up for repeat, or the FIA could instante some NASCAR-esque probation period.
(I admit, I'd like to see Mick Schumacher beaten by his teammate )

I don't think that's impossible at all - while Mazepin certainly doesn't look like a future champion, neither does Schumacher. Mazepin may not be that useless, and Schu Junior just may find the going much harder than expected. We'll see.

I think Mick will have a poor first season - partly because the Haas management is a mess and I cannot see them knowing how to properly develop a junior driver. He'd have been much better off at Alfa Sauber which has a stellar history of developing young drivers. There will also be fireworks between him and Mazepin - like there always are in anything in Mazepin's sphere.
Tsunoda will have a good ride. I really like the guy too. Very humble and precise in the driving.

Exactly. As I said when the news broke Haas will threaten to fire him, and Mazepin senior will just throw an extra few mill in pocket change into the pot. It will all be swept under the carpet like it never happened. In the same way as the girl involved was given a suitcase full of $100 bills to go and tell the world they are old friends, she posted the vid as a joke and said what a beautiful caring person he really is, and someone who would never belittle anyone especially her..
Although I have not seen the video, from all accounts the girl was very pissed off at his actions groping her and gave the camera the bird with a scowl...... and with that reaction she then posted it as a bit of a laugh. Yeah right.
Aparently the girl is a Venezuelan model.... I googled her name and looked at pictures of her. Found very few of her not wearing a tiny bikini, or with her hands over her unclothed boobs looking seductive. Certainly nothing much in the sort of glamorous catwalk sort of modelling shots one normally sees models portrayed as. I would be surprised if she doesnt charge by the hour.

He was 9th in F3, behind Pedro Piquet Schwartzman won the titleEverso Biggyballies wrote: ↑3 years ago Tsunoda without a doubt in my mind. Not sure what went wrong for Piquet in F2 tbh, had a cracking F3 year in an average car. Was improving greatly towards the end in F2 mind

(Now I know he didnt do a second year! )White six wrote: ↑3 years agoHe was 9th in F3, behind Pedro Piquet Schwartzman won the titleEverso Biggyballies wrote: ↑3 years ago Tsunoda without a doubt in my mind. He did score all the points his team scored in the F3 year, plus scored a win and 3 podiums.
I still think he will be the best of the rookies.

Well, Mick obviously has a lot of things going against him - the name obviously. It has been a burden throughout his career, and will continue to be so I believe.
I imagine Mazepin might give him a tough time.
I've seen Mick race, and honestly (perhaps to his credit), he won the F2 championship through consistent above-average results, one or two well deserved wins, but above all misfortune for his closest rivals.

Mazepin has a track record 10 miles long and shouldn't be in that car in the first place. Dumb as a brick.

Looking at all the 'names' that reached F1 level it appears to be more of a blessing than a burdenAntonov wrote: ↑3 years ago Well, Mick obviously has a lot of things going against him - the name obviously. It has been a burden throughout his career, and will continue to be so I believe.

Last year piquet was in trident gp, a very good team in developing talents. I know his engeener, he’s a good friend of my best friend. We were in trident f3 motorhome watching f2 feature race in monza last year. I also have a photo or a video with him i think. To be fair I hardly recognized him. F3 boxes are still old fashioned things once u got the pass.White six wrote: ↑3 years agoHe was 9th in F3, behind Pedro Piquet Schwartzman won the titleEverso Biggyballies wrote: ↑3 years ago Tsunoda without a doubt in my mind.
