Damn. So after all the investments made, there will possibly be no Dutch GP and no Vietnam GP.

Ferrari are traditionally the most powerful, but Mercedes and Renault hold the cards here.

Red Bull have proven that they don't care about it as they were willing to race, but the damage to the Merc and Renault brand isn't worth it.

Hehehe I had set a reminder on my phone last week for half an hour before the start of the race.... forgot to cancel it and was reminded to get in front of the TV for the race.

So I think while all the races are suspended - I wonder what teams are thinking about their cars right now. In terms of development they would have designed aero packages to suit the flyaway tracks. On the other hand now teams have an opportunity to think about developing their cars in their simulators and wind tunnels. Good news for Ferrari who seem to be behind? They are on shutdown in Maranello but surely the engineers will be able to work remotely.

How will the drivers stay fit?
What will happen to the 2021 preparations?
What about the smaller teams with less sponsorship revenue suffering from lack of running?

Many interesting topics...

Yeah the Ferrari factory has closed down because of the lockdown in Italy.

They might be able to design remotely, but unless everything is tested in a simulator these days, then they can't build/test anything.

The things I wonder:

1. Will F1 do anything to entertain fans for the next two months?
2. What will the 2020 calendar end up looking like?

Maybe Liberty should offer a super discount on their F1 TV thing and allow everyone pretty well free access to the history and past races, any video info and all the stuff it offers on their media packages. I dont have or have even looked at what it offers because I already have Foxtel I pay for to get the races live, but for the many millions of fans that dont have access to any F1 media it might help part time / fringe fans to maintain an interest in the sport. Something a bit more than the two minute highlights they have on their youtube channel.

I believe the F1TV archive offers footage in 480p, 25fps only and with no commentary. So, "natural audio" only. It makes it very difficult to enjoy past races when you expect to hear Murray Walker screaming into the microphone.

I got F1TV for "free" as part of my TV subscription. Yes, most of the races are without commentary (and in 10-20 min format) but some of them are with commentary (but that's mostly more recent ones?). It's a little difficult following the races as you have no idea what you're watching as there's hardly onscreen graphics either.

What is far more annoying is that you cannot cast it to a Chromecast.

I am very disappointed by F1TV, mostly due to the lack of commentary coming on (when you ask for it).

Free F1TV access.

Well, it has happened.... I got an email this morning from F1 to say that we are able to access F1TV free of charge for the next 30 days.
Unlocked for lockdown. We’re offering you F1 TV Access FREE for 30-days. See the bigger picture with all the races, all the rivalries and all the drama. Plus, binge on exclusive F1 documentaries including The Greatest Races and F2’s Chasing the Dream series. Relive all of your favourite F1 moments – on us.

Here's your code to get 30-days of F1 TV Access for Free:

F1FTF1TV2020

Getting it all for nothing couldn’t be easier. This code F1FTF1TV2020, is your free pass. Here’s how to use it:

Click the link BELOW. It’ll take you to F1 TV setup page.
Select F1 TV Access Monthly option. Once done, you'll be asked for your payment details. (Don’t worry you won't be charged).
Then, simply enter your free 12-digit code.
Press "apply" and you'll see the cost reduced to 0.
BOOM. You’re in. Free of charge for 30-days.
Sit back, relax, and feast on decades of drama.

Just to recap, you will not be charged until your 30-days are up. We promise. In fact, we’ll remind you to cancel, or continue, closer to the end of your trial.
We haven’t been able to adapt our existing system to handle this unusual situation.

Well, seeing as it is free and they warn you when your free period is expiring I might give it a crack. Got to be better than nothing.

(Albeit maybe not as good as the Fastlane YT channel, which you should all have subscribed to anyway  )
