XcraigX wrote: 4 years ago We ran into this the last time (2010). If qualifying runs on Sunday, those times will be used for GTP. If there is no qualy at all, then we would need to decide on the rules depending on what criteria they used to set the grid (FP2? FP3? championship order?).

So in a nutshell, if they run a qualifying session on Sunday, the times run in the session to set the grid (most likey Q3) will be used for GTP. So this week will count.
Sounds fine as long as it's qualifying, IMO.

But like I said before, I don't think times from FP1, 2, 3 would be fair.

Yeah, I agree with the above.

It would, as it so turns out, put @XcraigX in the catbird seat as well.

They have already confirmed that, with FP3 already cancelled, that should Sunday qualy not be possible the grid will be set from FP2 times/positions.

I assume Sunday morning will bring unseasonable warmth and a cut to the usual crew in the pitlane in t-shirt and shorts, with blue skies in every direction?

Slim to none. I suspect there's too much stuff already booked and planned (haulers, flights and what not) to be able to effectively move a race (see the 2018 British MotoGP).

I think the 1961 Dutch GP will keep its place as the last GP run on a Monday.

Forecast looks ok for Sunday. Maybe wet/damp qualy in the morning but dry afternoon.

This week's winner is Picci with a time 0.064 seconds away from Sebastian Vettel's pole time of 1:27.064! Great job predicting the dry time Picci (and for one-upping me on the delayed session prediction)!

Thanks for all the discussion on the "what- if" scenario's, but I think I'm going to put out a separate thread to develop a new rule on a completely cancelled Qualifying session.

The full results:

Code: Select all

Pts	Error	Guess	Player
10	00.064	1:27.000	Picci
6	00.114	1:26.950	xcraigx
4	12.602	1:39.666	Ian-S
3	18.536	1:45.600	ErwinGreven
2	21.824	1:48.888	Megallos
1	21.935	1:48.999	MonteCristo
0	23.491	1:50.555	TomDA
0	23.536	1:50.600	John
=========================================
Thanks to the multitude of wet time guesses, a huge shift in the Accuracy times means that XcraigX now leads. Huzzah!

Code: Select all

Accuracy	Player
24.191	xcraigx
31.151	MonteCristo
32.915	Megallos
46.558	John
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
However the points championship stays about there we left it, with MonteCristo well ahead of second place John (but with xcraigx and Picci closing up fast).

Code: Select all

Pts	Player
70	MonteCristo
56	John
51	xcraigx
50	Picci
43	Megallos
40	Ian-S
37	TomDA
32	KaiStar
31	Kals
20	ErwinGreven
10	Mawerick
2	RealTeeceezy
Who can hang on to the top spots over the last few races?

Let's do it all again for the Mexican GP in a couple weeks! Look for the new thread next week!

As always, thanks for playing!!
