This race was over when the two Mercedes got to start on Mediums. Dull race.

Merc seem to get lucky with safety cars more than any other team. So many Hamilton pitstops under vsc, or they back the pack up so they can double stack etc.

Karma for Vettel. Can’t say I’m unhappy that he retired after his early race petulance. Shame for Leclerc though.

Race was pretty dull otherwise.

That was an awful race. They should really consider putting a ban on pitstops under VSC. They ruined the races too often.

Minus points because Putin didn't appear.

McLarens are becoming really strong now, especially compared to where they were beginning of the season. I liked how they were still within touch of the RedBull pace. On the other hand, Alfa, which looked like a 4th place contender in the early stages, are now dwindling into nothing.

The only positive thing I can draw from all this is that Ferrari's pace looks good although I expect a much tougher challenge from Mercs in Suzuka which is very dependent on aero

I watched highlights briefly at Barcelona airport. Seems like I missed little. On the plane now next stop Dubai. Maybe the fact Putin didn’t show is a sign that he is bored with it and will pull the pin so we don’t have to suffer more

What's the nearest race he can annex?

St. Pete's is Putin's backyard, of course he wants the race there. I'm sure the teams wouldn't complain either.

The media neither. Our Tv commentator said they had to spend days to get in Sotchi. Sint Petersburg is much easier to travel to.

Yeah, everything is a pain with Sochi. First you got to get VISAs for everyone, then fly all that stuff to Moscow, and then haul it all the way to Sochi for the race. No one likes it.

Sochi is like the drunk uncle at Christmas parties who always have one too many egg-nogs and starts to ramble about how the jews control the world economy.

Seemed like it was pretty good for a race at Sochi.

Vettel never learned from his "Multi 21" mistake and still continues to ignore team orders, so he fully deserved his retirement from the race. I think the blatant disrespect he shows for his team and his team mates says a lot about his character.
