Bottom post of the previous page:

I believe it helps it's a relatively straight-forward circuit, 15 corners with like 2 kinks? That's way better than some of the later Tilkedroms with 22 corners of madness like in Korea.

Eh?
You'll have to excuse Andy. His view was obstructed by the bridge that he's currently living under

As for the race, I'd give it an 8. I think that despite the criticism, the extra DRS zone helped a lot today. There was no fear of getting stuck in the dirty air so it felt like teams were pushing much harder to catch the guy in front, rather than holding station

The spacing worked well too, one DRS zone mid lap really seemed to help drivers maintain that one second gap from T4 back to the pit straight

6.5, down to 6.

DRS makes it easy. Pity about CLAP.

7 Great race. I enjoyed it from the start. Deducted one for Leclerc engine fail.

Easily a 9. Ticks a lot of boxes - passing galore, passing for the lead, different strategies, competition throughout the field, mechanicals and driver errors.

7,5*, rounded off to 8 - there was a very limited part mid way through the race when things quieted down, but for the rest it kept me on the edge of my seat throughout.

* ,5 because of the end under safety car.

Can't rate the event as I dozed off around the 1/3 distance and only woke moments before Leclerc encountered problems. Hard luck for the young lad.

I gave it a 7. Some good action up front and midfield and a great drive from Leclerc. Not worth a higher score from me though because of the finish under the safety car and another demonstration of the gulf between the top 3 teams (Gasly excepted!) and the rest. Not a bearing on the score, just a personal rant but this was the first GP I have watched on Sky in years and I'm glad I haven't signed up. David Croft getting orgasmic over Vettel passing non-top 3 team cars after his new front wing pitstop, while Brundle wastes his time reminding him that it's a non-event.

To be fair, Sainz in the McLaren had no trouble keeping up with Max. If anything, these first two races makes me think that the Top-2 teams are even further ahead of the rest this year. Red Bull will probably bounce back at the tracks that favors the car, but at the other circuits, Red Bull might actually be put under pressure this year.

I think one of the main reasons that I enjoyed this race is that I liked the guy who was going for the win.

The battles between Vettel and Hamilton always feel like a 'lesser of two evils' kind of situation, where I'm never going to be happy, but I'll go with whoever isn't leading the championship, just to maintain interest through the season.

When someone like Le Clerc, Raikkonen or Max is going for the win, it feels so much better to cheer them on.

Yes, this. From day 1 of their careers, I hated Vettel and Hamilton and they have done nothing over the years to change my mind. Leclerc and Max...? I really like those kids!

Max is a stuck up prick. But he's a racer at least.

CLAP goes hard and seems likeable. It does indeed make a difference.

Definitely not the greatest, but a nice start to the new season.
