Bottom post of the previous page:

So you’re suggesting that Ferrari will use their veto on themselves? Interesting tactic

First of all, that tweet is so epic I thought it was a parody account first. Secondly, one less shady company in F1 anyway. I hope they go bankrupt over the Whyte bikes lawsuit.

Corrected.

Part of me wonders if this will end in a court case, another part wonders if Haas allowed them out (of their contract, because of no money) and this is the story they were permitted to use.

I don't know if Haas would approve that wording, unless he's seriously contemplating leaving F1. But I don't think that. It feels more of a case of Rich throwing their toys out of pram and crying out to anyone willing to listen. Haas won't fold, they're rich enough, but it'll be interesting to see how their cars will look this weekend and moving forward as well. CNC-logos again?

The latter comment is highly unlikely, just a theory I was contemplating. We haven't heard from Haas yet so we'll see what happens this weekend. Maybe they can have some 'Poor Energy' decals made up?

Was Rich Energy owned by the guy who wanted to buy/start a team as well?

Rich Energy's shareholders are understood to be attempting to save the company's relationship with the Haas Formula 1 team after the company tweeted on Wednesday that the sponsorship deal had been terminated.

Sources have told Motorsport.com that the tweet was either written by or authorised by CEO William Storey without the knowledge of Rich's investors after an apparent difference of opinion.

One source told Motorsport.com: "The deal is not terminated and William has no authority to do so. The investors are trying to clear up the PR mess, but it's business as usual."
This just gets better and better.

The board probably realises they will be in some (more) legal trouble if they allow Storey to attempt to execute the termination. So therefore they are trying to back peddle and find a way not to get sued (again).
