I'm well up for it incase I didn't mention previously.. variety. Why, when we have different configurations available, do we insist on racing the same one each year?
When they changed to the alternate long layout in 2010 I think, I loved it. Admittedly.. it wasn't a great change, but it was a change, it was interesting and a neat little experiment. Circuits with the ability to change their layout year on year should look to do it more often, especially considering how one sided the racing has been in recent seasons. Mix it up!

F1 cars (and tracks) should turn left and right.
There is a (badly driven) onboard of the lap from what seems to be rFactor 1 on this Autosport video here:
In terms of laptime, it would be competing with Dijon in 1974, which (AFAIK), is the only time F1 cars lapped a circuit in under 60 seconds.
It does not seem to be much like an oval in the traditional sense, and I have no problems with that. I just dont like the idea of Speedway type ovals for F1.

Ross Brawn can be forgiven for calling it an oval, it's not like the man has worked in the sport for over 20 years.

Isn't it even possible to by-pass turn 1?
It is but I rekon you want the braking zone into T1, else it's a bit like Silverstone, quick flick right with no passing opportunity. Since you loose T4 with the perimeter circuit that leaves only the final corner which isn't an ideal overtaking spot anyway. Not that DRS will make any of these points moot anyway.

Would be an option for Interlagos
Speaking of, is the oval even around these days?
Interlagos these days only has one variant, maybe two if you want to include the bike chicane at the final turn, but that's it. The oval is still there but the backstraight used as a dragstrip IIRC and the rest of the pavement would need major reconstruction to cope with F1 loads.
Apparently (so I have read) it was Rokit that gave Williams the flick.... Williams are trying to (legally) get money that would have been due during the (recently extended) contract period.
I was not sure whether Rokit to Mercedes is confirmed yet or still a rumour. They have also been linked to Racing Point Haas and I am sure others as well.

At which F1 circuit can you best compare lap times across the years? Suzuka? Has that changed the least?
Problem is Suzuka has only been in F1 since 1987 with a period in the 2000s where Fuji jumped in for a while. I'd compare speeds across whole seasons, to get rid of the inherent variability in weather and circuit shape. Lucky for you I have that in graphical form in hand.
