OK so the hypersofts don't seem to be giving the drivers any favours. It seems likely they will try to avoid them in qualy where possible so we might not see that much of a big jump in times from last year.

I think the times would end up somewhere around the region of @Ian-S 's guess.

I think you are right that they wont use them much, especially Q2, but I think they may well bring them out in Q3 when they are going for the time and dont need to start the race on them. They seem to be ok for one flying lap. We may know more in P3. I think the weather is forecast to be cooler today as well.

Really didn't think they would go that fast after last week's pace. I know they had hypers this year compared to ultra's or whatever they are last year, but still.

However, the pole sitter is quite excellent, so losing completely is an apt trade off.
