Also, Kimi must be one of the oldest race winners?

A nice 39th Birthday present for Kimi.
I’m just going to not count Hanks and Wallard on that list.

This was to all intents and purposes a great race. Could have done with some more coverage of the mid-field. Shame about Ricciardo.

I actually was not going to include them, but they were official WDC scoring races so I did.

Omg! I can’t believe Kimi’s finally done it! Truly nailbiting stuff. I did think he had it in the bag when Hamilton pitted again but When I realised he was only 12s behind I thought, oh crap...

Yes.... even the Ferrari team told him on the radio quite early that Lewis would be on his gearbox 3 laps from the end of the race. Fortunately Max and Lewis battling gave Kimi some breathing space.

Speaking of strategy kimi won the race starting on ultrasoft while hamilton started on supersoft and verstappen on soft.
It was the ultrasoft which allowed kimi that quick start and he was clever enough to bring that set to distance. Kimi’s win also prevented hamilton to win the championship. For once we must say that Ferrari strategy was good.
On the other hand the trick from Mercedes pit didn’t work and backfired putting hamilton in third place, while even the second place would have been enough to hand him the title.

Grosjean's incident – which sent Leclerc, who eventually retired much later, to the back of the pack – will be investigated after the race.

Grosjean faces an automatic one-race ban if the stewards award him three licence penalty points, having already picked up nine in the last 12 months.

Also, Ocon's car seems to have used too much fuel.

Grosjean received a grid drop for Mexico and a single penalty point, putting him on 10.

And now both Ocon and Magnussen have been disqualified. This decisions move Hartley to 9th and ex-FWDC to 10th. Vandoorne once again is classified 11th.

Fuck that American twat who was shouting GREAT JOB, GREAT JOB! as Kimi was taking his helmet off.

Kimi doesn't give a shit who you are, and nobody else does.

Probably the sort of twat that shouts "get in the hole!" from a tee shot in golf.

If anyone missed it yesterday, here's the clip of someone finding one of F1's mics, and screaming "NYOW! NYOW NYOW NYOW" into it as cars sped by.

Sebastian Vettel reckons he had the speed to win the United States Grand Prix, had he not had his first lap tangle. Is he saying had he not fucked up again he woulda coulda shoulda won? Once more he shot himself in the foot with a lack of lap 1 talent is my feeling. That is why he could not put a race winnable car on the podium.

It'll be interesting next year. Vettel will, for the first time in ages, have a teammate who's not interested in playing second fiddle. Let's see how he handles that.
