Random news from Brazil reports that Rubens Barrichello is in hospital having suffered a health scare. All is now good and Rubens is on the road to recovery. This report does not make it clear if he has been released from hospital or is still in hospital undergoing observation. Sounds like it might have been a blood clot of some sort. Again the description of a 'problem with a vein' is a little vague.

Regardless I am sure we all wish Rubens a full and speedy recovery.
Veteran Formula 1 racer Rubens Barrichello has been hospitalised following a health scare last week.

The former Ferrari and Williams driver was taken to hospital after complaining of a headache, the 45-year-old sharing a video on social media to reassure fans of his condition.

“On Saturday I decided to wake up and have a shower. I felt a terrible headache,” Barrichello said.

“Luckily, my wife was there and she called a friend doctor who took me to the hospital, they they took really good care of me.

“I had a small problem on a vein, but I want to tell you that I am feeling great,” he added.

“I am still going through exams and so on, but I am honestly great and the difficulties in life are the ones who show us how to grow and how to be better.”

I remember this day very well. I was only 13, but I woke myself up in the middle of the night (probably before 3am?) and watched the whole pre-race show live. I was so totally shocked when Villeneuve crashed, I ran upstairs and woke my mum up and made her watch it...

As for the other drivers - JPM was always a favourite of mine and I wished he'd stayed around to achieve more. I think we all knew back then Bernoldi wasn't going to have a gleaming career, but Kimi and Alonso were here to stay. Kimi peaked more than a decade ago though and maybe he should have stayed retired after he disappeared off to go rallying/NASCAR for a year.

his comeback with Lotus was inspiring, his stint(s) with Ferrari were not.

Well at least it's not that Spanish woman who says woman aren't physically capable of challenging men in F1, yet is an FIA advocate for woman in motorsport

Kimi is still the only Ferrari driver to get a WDC since 2004, achieved in his first stint. Agreed his return stint has been underwhelming with rare exceptions.

Carmen Jorda. You're absolutely right. But I'll quell my need to go on a rant about her.

They beat McLaren quite comfortably last year..... and both drivers scored more points than either McLaren drivers.
Plus last year was only their second year as a new team.
