Easy fix with SCs... Don't allow lapped cars to gain their lap back. They just either move to the back of the line, or heck, even stay in whatever position they are mixed between cars on the lead (and on other) lap.

Shorter SCs would be a win in everyone's books.

Yes, and yes. I feel that we're flogging a dead horse, though. Haven't we discussed this countless times already?

I am still very positive about the VSC. There is a big disadvantage when a safety car comes out. It picks up the leader and anyone behind it races towards to the Safety Car.
i am quoting John Hindhaugh here when i write that racing drivers can not be trusted to slow down properly when yellow flags are being waved. This is why at several series the Code 60 is used (Creventic and VLN) or any form of a VSC. Remember why Jules Bianchi crashed. Not slowing down properly while double yellows are being waved.

Also when a safety car is re-introduced to buckle up the field, be aware that it could be used as a "debris-caution" any time. Think Liberty Media.

Blue Flags could be used still, but only for its original purpose: to let a backmarker know there is a faster car behind him/her.

About the DRS i have only one opinion: Get RID of it.

I dreamt of being an F1 driver from an extremely young age, but in reality I never thought I would actually get there. The stats speak for themselves and it is an almost impossible challenge.
Jolyon, the reality is that you never should have been there. :annoyed:

2 points finishes in an era when half the field got points for turning up sort of implies he was not really there.

Just reminded myself that McLaren have a more recent case of winning a WDC than Ferrari. :whistling: :)

Drivers championship yes, constructors championship is a different story though.

Quite a dry spell for both organizations.

Last WCC win for McLaren was 2 decades ago, 1998! They were DSQ'd/non classified in 2007.
Ferrari's most recent WCC was a decade later than McLaren's last, in 2008.
As you say slim pickings for both.

Toto Wolff said, speaking to Der Spiegel, that he wants to reduce the amount of races in a season to 15 or 16.

In the same interview, he wants to short the races to last no more than 70-75 minutes, as kids (=target audience) aren't able to "stay focused for two hours".

First of all, most races are over in 90 minutes anyway. Secondly, if they can't sit still to watch a race for 90 minutes, then they're hardly interested in the first place...

Was just gonna say the same, my son can't sit through a GP because he's not interested in it, yet pack him off to a MtG pre-release and he'll happily sit there for five hours watching. It has nothing to do with kids not being able to focus Toto (some maybe, but not all) it's because your product is boring compared to other stuff on offer.

I've said this before, but kids and teenagers are the wrong target audience too, middle class, middle aged men is F1's target audience, and they'll cause interest from the girlfriends/wives/kids by association for you, targeting the wrong audience is what has damaged NASCAR, learn from them Liberty, don't copy.
