Does anyone have a way to get an Acestream going on a proper TV instead of a computer?
Anyone? Bueller? Anyone?
HDMI output from the computer into the back of the TV. That's what I do.
I may have a way to do this, since I am now the proud owner of a raspberry pi, which is connected to my tv, hard disk and Wifi. Anyone using a similar setup that has a way to get acestream working?
Googling just points me to the vlc app and server, but nothing more. I deas? I have until March to figure this out
I bought an IP TV box which is essentially a MAG set top box filled with channels, pre-loaded movies, series and so on. SkySports F1 / HD is on it too. I connect the box to the TV using the HDMI cable and it's good to go. I bought it from Malta and I take it everywhere with me. It's very small so very practical to carry around.
Noodle, the ONLY way to get Acestream to work is via the official app which only works on Windows. Trust me, I tried it on a Mac with Wine and it didn't work and I doubt you'd get it working on Linux either. There are no third party apps available.
Picci, the IPTV box sounds very, very tempting, but presumably, not legal?

Nope, found a working app (Plexus)
Just need a working acestream link now...
I've turned my pi into a media server which basically does everything Picci's box does + gives me total control over everything on my HDD. I've also addeda torrent client so I can download at night without the pc on....

No idea if it's legal or not legally speaking but I know that the whole of Malta owns one. They are freely advertised on TV too. The underlying software is through Kodi.

Just copy+paste the link to Ace player. It works fine, I'm watching it now.
