Is anyone interested in continuing with this?
I've had a lot of work to do lately and I lost motivation, but my motivation is back now, I have a few ideas for articles myself and I will draft these later on in the month. After I've done some capturing for Jesper.
Race reviews would be a good place to start. I'm advertising the forum on the iRacing forums via my signature, it would be nice to get some new members in from there of all places

I know, I'm a perfectionist though, so I'll end up correcting absolutely everything I'm not 100% happy with. Could have done with hiring an editor to help.

I could still do a article about the old Assen circuits, releasing it somewhere end June.

Some interesting stuff in there. I particularly liked F1's false history

Thank you pob! I re-read it the other day and it seems I wrote it quite well, besides too much waffle towards the end.
I'm actually thinking of reviving this part of the website. It will only be for specialist articles though, not modern motorsport news. For example, I'm preparing a big article on the very first races at AVUS in 1921. No one has ever written about them in English before.
Would anyone be interested in taking part, or submitting articles they have already written?

I might be able to contribute.
The "F1's false history" article sparked an old memory. Did you know both Farina and Fangio entered Indy, albeit not in "F1" cars:
Farina entered in 1956 and 1957, but wasn't competing in F1 those years so wasn't chasing the championship points. He was extremely unlucky: in 1956 he failed to qualify partly because of the weather (although he was slower than his teammate); in 1957 he withdrew when his car was wrecked by his teammate Keith Andrews, who was killed in the crash.
What was left of the car:
edit: just noticed the Keith Andrews crash is mentioned elsewhere on the forum
Fangio intended to race at Indy in 1958 to try and score points towards the WDC, but he withdrew after being slow in practice.

Ahh, no. Fangio had already retired from racing in 1958, but was answering a dare from a US author (think it was Floyd Clymer).pob_ wrote:Fangio intended to race at Indy in 1958 to try and score points towards the WDC...
