Lake Garnett is a 2.84 mile road course in the city park of Garnett, Kansas. It was used by the SCCA for national sports car racing from 1959 to 1972. The track is very narrow and dangerous.

The most famous race there was held July 7th, 1963. It was a national SCCA race and was the site of an important Cobra vs. Corvette clash. That event was also marred by rioting in the streets of the small town by spectators.

In the production race, Cobras ended up 1, 2, and 3 with the Corvette team holding positions 4, 5, and 6. Ken Miles in a Cobra also won the modified race that day ahead of a Chaparral and a Cooper Monaco.

The track is still in nice condition (being the roads around a lake in a city park) and used for shifter kart racing.

After going round Turn 1, the road straightens up and starts to go uphill, along the Pipestream Straight:

A little further up, you see that the road actually drops away before the next turn, Welda Corner:

At the apex of Welda Corner, you see the road drop away slightly as the track flattens out:

Looking up the Santa Fe Straight, which appears anything but straight! The circuit has lots of undulations:
