1977  ยป Italian Grand Prix




On 11 September 1977 morning, during the final of the Alfasud Europe Cup, supporting race to the 1977 Italian Formula 1 Grand Prix held at Monza, an advertising board where about sixty spectators have climbed up to watch the races, suddenly collapsed throwing all the people down. While hurling part of the board trailed other spectators seated on the branches of the trees all around, and other people sitting under the structure was crushed.

The rescuers found a number of spectators under the beams and the panels fallen down. One of them suffered thoracic crushing and died about one hour later at Niguarda hospital in Milan. His name was Giuseppe Bonalumi, 14-year-old from Lissone, then province of Milan, now province of Monza-Brianza.
