The 1975 Permatex 300 at Daytona was highlighted by a frightening double flip. On just the second lap, Red Farmer (#97) and Terry Mock (#44) tangled coming out of the tri-oval. Both cars slid through the infield grass before hitting a paved area used for the road course, sending the two airbone. Farmer flipped six times before grinding to a halt, while Mock jumped over the infield guardrail, narrowly avoiding the safety crew nearby.
Mock was treated and released, while Farmer suffered only severe bruises.
