1925  »

Niels "Bugatti-Skrædderen" Christensen's wreck at Glostrup-Banen in Denmark in 1925. Christensen had already driven to Glostrup by Tuesday 22nd. He had only just begun training in the evening when the Bugatti suddenly skidded off at the same place where Carl Hølzer was injured two years earlier. He was flung out of the car as it rolled and the accident meant that Christensen's right forearm had to be amputated. He spent 2 months at the Municipal Hospital and it was clear that motorsport career had to be abandoned. However he miraculously bounced back to race again with one arm just a year later, having successfully reversed the revocation of his license.
