The 2001 Daytona 500 had been going relatively smooth up until 15 laps to go, when the dreaded "Big One" struck the field on the backstraight. Tony Stewart (#20) took the wildest ride as he went flipping in the middle of the melee, landing on top of his teammate Bobby Labonte (#18). None of the 20 drivers involved suffered any injuries.
