1973  ยป Capital City 500

On Lap 4, Baxter Price (#33) spun on the front stretch, causing a multi-car pileup as oncoming drivers tried to avoid him. Dick Brooks (#90) plowed into the rear of Price's car, rupturing the fuel tank and causing a major fire. Price was rushed to a local hospital with first-degree burns while Bill Champion dislocated his shoulder. The race was red-flagged for more than an hour for cleanup.
